Vinay.. are you seeing the signal from the router and its just not connecting or is not detecting the wireless at all?

Not being funny...have u told the laptop to look for signals?, aka turn the wireless part of the laptop on(if u didnt have wireless it might be switched off to save power!
When u set up the router how did u set it up, private or open network?
is the router a DHCP server too, if so have u told the laptops wireless settings to look for that?

Good point.. Alot of laptops have that switch that has to be turned on to get a wireless signal.

i was looking through in vista ultimate but its hard to figure it out..
if it was xp i would have found a way to do it my self.. but i havnt really explored vista yet ..

So to make sure Jacx and I understand, your saying the laptop is detecting the Wireless signal coming from the Router, you just can't get it on the network?

Well getting the wired to work is completely different than the wireless. I guess I'm just trying to understand if the problem is at the signal or at the network.. I mean he might have encryption set up and needs to put the key in at the laptop etc..

lol.. andy
well there is an good and bad news guys
the good news is that.. ive fixed the wireless problems and now everything is working fine
but the bad news is that.. the speed is slow..
with wired im getting speed at 100 Mbps
but with wireless USB im gettin from 38 Mbps to 54 Mbps
any idea why this is happening?
Dymond

well 54Mbps is as fast as you'll get with wireless right now and thats usually in ideal conditions.
Vinay

but the router and the wireless USB is capable of going to 100 mbps.. since their max is 108 mbps

You have to have the right card to get 108.. Usually its a brand and a model tied to the router.
