2 PC's connected by wires.
Folders set to share.
Anything that can access the files isn't accesing the files.
So why do I get an error with the stuff?:-

It's not even as if it's a whole folder, it's certain programs/videos in the folder.
Anyone have a fix for it?

I got a temp. fix, made a new folder and copied them there. I take it that it has something to do with eMule? (It's in my eMule shared folder - although eMule was off at the time)

Its possible the folder isn't propagating the permissions down to the files in it. I've never seen that problem with Torrents though.. hmmm

In case you haven't already seen it, read what google spat out (http://www.derkeiler.com/Newsgroups/microsoft.public.win2000.security/2003-01/14935.html) for me. Personally, I wouldn't rule issues with the filename out though. For testing purposes, I would suggest to rename the file to "Borat.avi".

Using Windows Explorer, right-click on the folder/directory containg
the problem files, and select Properties|Security|Advanced. Note
enabled/checked "Allow inheritable permissions from parent to
propagate to this object". Enable (check) "Reset permissions on all
child objects and enable propagation of inheritable permissions" and
then "Apply". A Security box will advise about propagation of
inheritable permissions to child objects. Continue with "Yes".
Windows will then proceed to set/reset permissions on all child
object/folders/files. This may take a while depending on the number of
files in the directory tree, but the file progress is displayed with
each file name.
That was gonna be my fix...

Btw I didn't just ignore your advice, I kicked the PC in frustration and it broke so I guess that's my problem solved: I now have no LAN.
e - by broke I mean I kicked the front of it, it froze, I turned it off and on, and now nothing comes on the monitor even though the PC is still on.

I remember I used to have to smack my monitor to get it to work.. Until one day I smacked it too much and it got a restraining order against me.
