I just got the coolest DVD player this weekend. Our old one bit the dust so I bought a Phillips HDMI DVD player and it comes with Divx support and a front side USB port.. Now I can copy a Divx/Xvid(yeah it plays xvid too!) video to a flash drive, plug it into the DVD player and watch it on the big screen. This is great for when we miss an episode of <insert favorite tv show here> when the DVR is overscheduled and I have to download it from a torrent site. Our choices used to be watch it on the computer or waste a DVD-R for a 40 minute show. Now I can just copy it on to the flash drive and I'm golden. It would even work with an external USB hard drive. I'm thinking about picking up an enclosure and making use of a spare 40GB hard drive I've got laying around. I was stoked about it playing xvid video too because I realize alot of sites have moved away from divx and over to xvid as an encoder. However even with worse case scenario and xvid stops working I've already found a xvid-divx converter thats fairly fast. Yeah Zeus I know I could use Pro-Coder but that program is slow as f**k.
