I downloaded some game the other day
it said 1gig download, Firefox download manager did it in about 6 seconds.
Then the games software said I had to update the games itself. So it began downloading the update.
Here is the question - I'm on a 5Mbit connection and I was downloading at 512kb/s on the update and it took half an hour.
A) what size does that make the update
B) shouldn't I have been transfering faster

possibly
the other thing is I download a driver for my audio and it was only 17MB but took half an hour. WTF could cause it to be so slow
I was dowloading at less that 10kb/s

The problem with downloads is people forget that it's not your download speed that's the problem... It's the upload speed of the server you download from. If thousands of people are all using it at the same time, you're going to have problems.

Thats the nail on the head.. Especially if its motherboard manufacturers..Those guys are extremely tight about bandwidth..

Was entropia universe but I guess my video card is short on memory, lmao, its only 128MB. Says
"renderer creation error" reason: your video card may be low on memory please close other applications and try again. At first I thought I just needed to update drivers and reinstall direct X 9.0 but that didnt work either.
