ok my system was working fine before and now i have bought a new case. i transfered everything from one case to the other. it all worked fine BUT the video card. it will nto show up at all. i have put it in the right slot(seeing as there is no other slots that it fits in)
ive had this problem before but it usually just works once i clean the socket. tried that and it still aitn working. ive used another screen aswell and it wouldnt load then either.
ive purchased a new(second hand) card and put that in and there is the same problem. is there something i have to do before the screen will work or what??
also i cant chech the settings of it as the screen is not working. sooo what ever the problem is has to be hardware right??
any help would be greatly appreciated

well lets start from the basic.. check if your cables are working properly? as in your monitor
it may sound stupid and simple but the majority of the pplz leave the basic checking out...
so try these first..
if u say ur monitor screen aint working? well atleast does the on/off button blink in ur monitor?

the on off button does work. aswell as it registers that it is plugs into a video card. BUT it will not actually come on once the computer has been booted.

well maybe its not pluged in properly since u transfered everything to your new tower...
check again to see if the cable is properly connected from monitor to cpu

i have found this diagnoses.
POWER - BUT NO SCREEN: Check PC video cable or video card, possible horizontal circuit faulty in monitor.
but as before doesnt seem to help at all :S

Nope.. but if two seperate cards aren't working you either have 1 of two problems..
Dead AGP slot or dead monitor..

aint the monitor. tried it on this pc and it worked fine.

I've never had any hardware problems, I got my first computer when I was 10. I have the some one still if you could say that.heh, been doing nothing but upgrading it since. My hard drive is getting pretty old though, I've had this 80 gig since 2002. Still though my uncle custom built it from his business back in the day so I'm not surprised it's lasted awhile. I just hope it doesn't crap out before I can get a totally new gaming comp.

newegg.com offers no payments for 6 months of 500$ and over purchases. Dont know if they ship to Australia, but they do have real cheap prices. You can build it to your needs.

Seriously... fuck second hand lol, it's soooo worth paying the extra just for the manufacturers warranty. Just don't go for cheap shit that has made in Korea stamped all over it or your 'warranty' holds as much weight as a blank sheet of paper.
