1) Has anybody tried plugging in an external harddrive via USB. I have used flash drives and memory sticks that worked ok, so why wouldn't a 500GB hardrive
2) I was looking at the specs and...
*CPU (8 cores)(1 of 8 SPEs reserved for redundancy
total floating point performance)
so = 7 x SPE @ 3.2GHz
*Its graphics is powered by an NVidia graphics chip called an RSX ("Reality Synthesizer") which operates at 550 MHz core clock with over 300 million transistors, and is claimed to be more powerful than two GeForce 6800 Ultra cards put together.
*RAM 256 MB XDR
Clock speed 3.2 GHz
VRAM 256 MB GDDR3
Clock speed 700 MHz
Memory Bandwidth Main 25.6 GB/s
VRAM 22.4 GB/s
-------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe somebody can help me understand this better. The processor is great. The video card is perfect. But the memory seems to be lacking, yes it is fast but total = 512 MB. And doesn't memory operate at the slowest of the 2. In other words, because the VRAM is only 700mhz, wouldn't that slow down the RAM that is 3.2 ghz. Just trying to determine if it really is lacking in the RAM department or if I don't understand why they would set it up this way.
