Click on my results at the top and take a look at the upload statistics. I was quite surprised to see the european average (~830kbit/sec) and the global average (800kbit/sec). I guess symmetric lines, that are mainly to be found at companies and universities, are raising those figures quite significantly.

As long as companies are allowed to advertise what their equipment can theoretically achieve instead of what they actually achieve, with a caveat stating that you can only expect speeds 'up to' this maximum hidden somewhere in the small print. It would be pointless to change on the basis of a company's claims.

They all claim you can get 4, 8, 26, 24 mbps. None of them deliver though...

Mine was right around where Vinays is.. I use the site all the time for troubleshooting slowness.. to determine if its my end or the sites end.

With BT the time of day makes a big difference. They use traffic shaping during busy hours.

FIOS is the way to go, I have a dedicated fiber optic line and for $5 more a month I could triple this

simply compare your other speed test to this one.. and check the Connection u brought from ur ISP and if those matches close by

then you will know which ones are the most accurate
