I think what you may want to look up for the Power supply is SFX / Micro-ATX / Small Form Factor
Performance is better with both hard drives on the same ribbon cable, and the CD RW and DVD drives on the other one.
The CD and DVD type drives have slower access speeds that tend to slow down the performance of the hard drive when connected to the same ribbon cable.

ok then. only problem is there is only 1 port for the ribbon cable :S
soo unless they have designed a new way to conect the cd/dvd drive up then im confused :S

sorry smash i had some PC probs of my own, back now and the old comp is just like new.
I'm guessing you already fixed this by now, but wanted to see if you figured it out.
It's fairly simple to plug in but can be a pain for drivers and installing windows sometimes. I think I downloaded the drivers from the mobo website to mem stick ->if your mobo supports floppy emulation to USB

Ummmmm That's not one of those boards that needs speakers with their own amplifier is it? I had one of those once, took me ages to figure that one out!

YES I HAVE DONE IT :D
ok for all those with the same problem(turns out to be a fuckload)
all i done was this:
when i was installing some of the drivers it came up with an error saying that it couldnt find the streamci.dll file in System32.
all you need to do is google it. first link should be it and download the actual file. place it into the System32 folder. reinstall your drivers and then reboot. once that is all done it will work again.
make sure not to touch anything else in system32 as it could fuck the whole system. i have no idea why it done this but i hate it >.<
also could a mod/admin seperate this topic soo that everything about the sound is in a different thread so it is easier to find at a later date for those with the same problem :D
cheers everyone for their help.

everything on an installation disk is in Cab files that get extracted during installation.. DON'T delete the System32 folder again! LOL

i shall not :P
although i seem to not have all the files in system32 that i need :S
some things keep fucking up :S
like telling me i have a Microsfot Kernel GS Wavetable Synthesizer.
although i have no fucking clue as to what it is although it is saying that it wont install properly without the XP disc. put the disc in and it cant find the files :S
