I'll start by saying this game was massively over hyped pre-release, so much so that the reviewers that gave it an average score on IGN recieved death threats from fanboys that hadn't even played it yet. Fortunately I don't listen to hype so I had no expectations from it.
Having played it now for about 10hrs straight I gotta say it's a brillant game. Basically you're an assasin in 12th century middle east, all the cities and your targets are real places and people from that era. The term assasin is pretty loose here, Altar ain't no Agent 47, there's no stealth here, Altar's a killing machine, but Killing Machine's Creed doesn't have as good a ring to it.
The graphics and sound are second to none, the cities are HUGE and feel really alive.
Ok now the important stuff, the controls are very well mapped and your character responds to inputs just as you want. The learning curve is pretty small here, you'll be traversing the cities via rooftop in no time and slaying guards like a whore sucks dick. Which brings me to the fighting system. Some will find it boring, it's not a hack 'n slash, it's rather smart sword play where you basically wait for a chance to land the kill blow and damn they're satisfing, ramming your blade thru your opponents skull never gets boring, plus there's usually a chance to take out your opponents with your hidden blade before they even know you're a threat.
In conclusion this is a great game with excellent attention to detail and it's really pretty damn evil at times, well worth a look.
My score: 9/10

I honesty haven't found load times too bad on the 360 version. Tho when you see the massive areas and detail you have to expect chunky loads.

LOL, well i do my own tweaking to it, and dual boot linux. but i personally just want Microsoft to stay on the comp, not in my games i play on the tv. Bill has enough money already. and really most of the good games that come out on xbox comes out on the pc as well. so why spend more money.

I saw Hitman last weekend.
(was going to watch "The Mist" but our theatre is not playing it here)
It was a pretty good movie, nice action sequences, some sword play and martial arts and all out shooting brawls.
The only 2 things I really did not like about it though when compared to the game is that 47 used a more direct shoot em up approach in the movie instead of a silent assassin such as in the games. The second thing I did not like was that they did not include much of a back story, if at all, to agent 47 or the companies history.
There was no sex scene involved, just a bit of nudity from some girl who is flirty that accompanies em in a bit of the movie, 47 kept his distance and there was no "relation"...which I know most game fans were gonna be pissed about if there was, me included.
Overall it was definitely worth a watch, I'd give it a 7.

Back on topic, Wraith, I was thinking about getting this but was warned that it was to easy... You could just run straight at your target and kill him before the guards react. Also that all the levels were fairly similar... Should I slap the guy who told me and go out and buy it?
Asshole
7th December 2007, 06:27 PM
yes do it, on the main assassinations for the levels if you even breathe on the run button they detect you

on first playing this game i was taken back by the breath taking graphics which are right up there with some of the best around to date.
really enjoyed the game play as the assasin but found the modern day flashbacks(errrr flash forwards) a pain in the ass and take away from the pace of the game.
After playing the game a while though i found it became incredibly repetative and tedious because of this
all in all id say 7/10
