Reinstall

ok the comp is working now. sort of

i have been able to get it to do a reinstall repair. it done that, aftre skipping files, and now gets to the window screen.

erll you would think, like me, that it would just need to finish the instal from there wouldnt you??

well nooooo it doesnt want to do that. it will go along all happy like and then get to a part asking me about an AV Bluetooth connection and if i want to run it. you would think that all i had to do was click on yes or no.

but here is the problem.

by the time i get to this part of the instal the mouse and keyboard no longer work. ive tried restarting to make sure they are both plugged in. the keyboard works to get me into BIOS but after that ot doesnt work :| even fucked up after i turned the pc off :|

now i shouldnt need a new one cause it does work with the BIOS meaning it does work. but wtf is going on with teh rest of the time :|

I'm guessing your BIOS has a place asking how many USB connectors you have. If you say 2 and there is more than that it won't detect them when it goes into the OS. I had this problem too and I had to say I had 8 for it to detect the USB the mouse and keyboard were plugged into.

but my mouse and keyboard are plugged into the PS2 ports :|

LOL dude.. your kinda screwed then unless you have a feature in the BIOS to disable the PS2 mouse in favor of USB when in the OS.

i know.

i had to reinstall windows on another hdd and then connect it up that way and then move everything over to my new hdd. once i get the sata convertors ill be able to hook them all up again and have some more space.
