i was just wondering if there was some way to institute some sort of system to prevent mods or admins from using there powers incorrectly... not saying that its a huge problem or anything but from time to time mods will do stuff such as mess with peoples posts in shotbox and stuff and i honestly think this shoudnt be done with out the person being aware.. i beleive if a staff member does this sort of thing or any other thing that could be considered outside the lines or "mod abuse" there should be some penalty for it such as a point system that after so many times they lose there powers or such...im open for other ideas but think there should be something in place to prevent any mod or admin with a grudge or agenda to use it to there benefit or advantage

I really don't think there would be a feasible way to make a system that would do what you suggest. Also I'm not certain if such a system would be best used in this forum to begin with. If you think we were super strict with the rules now, imagine how much worse it'd get if we had to be regulated with an additional set of rules looking over our shoulder. Every one of us would have to be moderating with an iron fist or someone would report us of favoritism/not doing our jobs.

I understand why you brought it up. So I'll tell you that if you have a major grievance with a moderator or myself, your best bet would be to take it to Jacx or someone that does the hiring/firing of the forum staff.

how about Head Admin of this Forum gets to see what staff members do to the Users

anytime where a Staff members edits anything a log should be automatically send to head admin...

this way Head Admin can monitor to see if his staff members are doing the right thing or not...

I can view moderator actions within the forum, such as editing/deleting a person's posts or threads. There may be a similar log for SB actions.

that would be cool if there was that way if there is some sort of incident such as happened in past then the offender can be spoken to and found out why it was done and if there was a legitimate or non legitamate reason..thank you ks

That's why I stated to go ahead and send a message to Jacx if you really feel that a moderator's abuse is out of hand. Not only is he partially responsible for the hiring/firing of staff, I can tell you that if he even remotely agrees with what you said, he'll make it well known in the staff section (if it's a staff wide issue) or to that particular person.
