It should just be a case of going to the 'File' menu 'Save As', in the drop down menu of the 'Save as Type' select 'GIF Graphics Interchange Format'

Thats using Powerpoint 2003.

no offense but depending on the quality of the picture and if its a presentation and not just a picture... opening it up in paint will distort the picture quality... i think... what other programs do you have?? cuz i have pain shop pro if you want i can change it for you.. :D

If you want to save one of the slides as a gif, right click on it, select "Save as Picture", then change the "Save as type" to GIF, give it a name and click on save - easy peasy

If you want to distribute the powerpoint slide w/o the need to have people on the other end have powerpoint there are some players out there that allow people to see the presentation without the need for Powerpoint. I helped my idiot brother-in-law when he was trying to present one of his myriad get rich schemes to people who didn't have PP. We found a self contained player that didn't require Office with PP installed.
