Anyone have any pointers/helpful places to go and learn up on how to mix or what to look for when mixing music? Because I recently became very interested in mixing music and wanted to at least attempt to mix two songs together...

I first started out by mixing the same tune together, try and start them at different times and mix a constant sequence. Try rocking one plate back and forth to the beat of the record playing aswell, mixing is alot harder then it sounds... i'm assuming that you're talking about vinyl??

try using audasity for starters it is real easy to use for beginners. well first thing you will need to do is realise if you can hear "train wrecks" as they are called by dj's (this is when the pitch/tempo is off) to get an idea what i'm talking about load audasity load the song's tainted love by marilyn manson and the song brackish by kitty they will be in sync at first then they will go asrtay and you should hear what i am talking about with a "train wreck" if you do this you will have taken the first steps tward mixing a great song! also try the porgram virtual dj as i also use that at work. by the way i work in a bar as a bartender mainly but 1 night a week as the dj.
