Desert Eagle is a Brand of gun they make more than one cal. which one are you wanting to know the price of? Most of them start around the $1100 dollar range brand new. With the exception of the "baby Desert Eagles" starting around $400 new.

Hello my name is Tim and I take pride in being a citizen of the most powerful nation on earth – the mighty United States of America. Over here, we have the right to defend ourselves and our country. I encourage everyone to make use of that right in order to improve the overall safety in this country.

Personally, I don't believe in little toys like the Gat, as they aren't effective. During my time in Vietnam, I experienced with my M16 that even 5.56 mm rounds aren't knocking your enemy down instantly wherefore you need something with a lot more punching power. The last thing you want is your enemy to still be able to operate after he's been hit 5-10 times.

http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/6154/m107kc2.jpg

I selflessly bought myself a more appropriate weapon for Christmas a couple of weeks ago – the new Barrett M107. It's an automatic sniper rifle with .50 cal rounds that can penetrate 3 inches of steel at a distance of more than 1.5 miles. The part that impressed me most however is the incredible accuracy at long distance ranges. Barrett has developed a special bullet for this weapon which makes it more deadly and accurate than any other sniper I've experienced before.

Imagine someone is about to enter your property with heavy machine guns and hides behind bags of sand. If you want to be prepared for that, the M107 is your weapon of choice. You shoot right through whatever your enemy is hiding behind. With armor piercing bullets or even explosive rounds, there is nothing that can beat this weapon. Obviously, it's a big strategical advantage to literally split your enemy in half long before he can see you or even hear the sound of your weapon.

For daily business, I'm using a fully automatic gas operated AA-12 assault shotgun with a long piston stroke and an open bolt. At a weight of less than 5 kg, it fires more than 300 rounds per minute and comes with a detachable 40 round drum magazine. There is nothing in a range of 200 yards that could survive this. Considering that our nation is at war, you want to have the most powerful short distance weapon for your own safety.

http://img295.imageshack.us/img295/9711/mpsaa12qe9.jpg

Even though both of those weapons are more powerful than most people could imagine, their psychological factor is even more significant. Knowing what you're up against, you don't want to mess with me in the first place. This is what I call passive safety.

Some people, europeans in particular, might argue that this equipment isn't exactly cheap. The question is: Is there any price you wouldn't pay for your own safety if you could afford it? If there are 15 guys outside with heavy machine guns, I wish you good luck calling 911 and waiting 20 minutes for the police to arrive. There are situations in which you have to have the option to not only defend yourself effectively, but also to intimidate your enemy.

Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

God bless America. http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/473/iconflagusaft9.gif

first off...what state did you purchase these weapons in? did you check to make sure that they are allowed in that specific state?

and on a serious note. i find jabs about Vietnam extremely rude. i recently lost my father in law to cancer that was caused by Agent Orange that he was exposed to while being forced to serve in the army. he went through many years of horrible illness and the US Army refused to give him medical help. he had nightmares since returning from the war. the Vietnamese would strap bomb to kids and then tell them that the US soldiers had candy, blowing up the children when they were in range of the soldiers. do you have any idea what it would be like to live with these images stuck in your head? he was drafted at age 17. 4 Purple Hearts.... but really, go ahead and use Vietnam in your little stories to amuse yourself.

With all due respect Beli, but my post was addressed neither to you nor your father-in-law. In fact, I wasn't even taking the mickey out of the Vietnam war at all, let alone people who suffer from post traumatic stress disorder. These things aren't funny and I won't use people's tragic fate for my own amusement. If you had understood my post, you would have realised that I was deliberately exaggerating the pathetic ignorance and paranoia of some people that feel the inexplicable urge to arm themselves up to their teeth at home.

I guess the last thing you need right now is to talk with me about a bloody post. Fight your grief with love and realise how wonderful your universe is. You had such a long and lovely time with your father-in-law that left so many memories for eternity - no one will be able to take those away. Instead of focussing on what you don't have right now, you should think how very lucky you, and in particular your husband, were to share so much time with this amazing person. Your husband carries a big part of him inside of him and I'm sure you'll see the time of your father-in-law in his hands.
I'm so useless at this ... What I want to say is that I'm truly sorry and I hope that you'll be able to smile very soon. I'm sure it would be his wish too - even if it included to think of his silly habits that you used to observe secretly.

I have fired a gun, i live in an army town, i have been up on thier ranges and fired, i was actually pretty damn good, but it still does not compel me to buy 5 guns and do it on a regular basis, in fact seeing what they can do makes me feel the exact opposite.
