To Be honest I find NOFX hit and miss.
Some of there songs Are Amazing, Some are not good at all. They don't seem to ever have mediocre songs.
As for the Not being punk thing... While they may not be as political as other Punk bands, They have Helped (in part) define Modern Punk, and Fat Wreck Chords is one of the most influential labels going.
