I seriously doubt anyone is going to accept this idea. Once a person tries to join and finds they can't then they probably won't return...

ya gotta do something, and I would think taking care of the existing customer would be better than taking care of the new ones. If they really want to play, then they will email verify thru the forums. if they cant do that, they werent going to play anyways

How hard would it be to change the "sign up" link to route them thru the forum sign up link? Then a banning wouldnt be necessary and they are email verifying to sign in.

actually most games you play online now ask you to verify through e-mail so i doubt it would stop anyone from signin up just the multis

well if people have time to make hundreds of multis im sure they wont mind making hundreds of email accounts

Every player will have to register their email address in order to get customer support, every player will have to click the validation link in the email sent to be allowed to play!

I will be also be paying for a service that provides me weekly lists of proxy site ip addresses that will be placed on a ban list! Now I can already hear some complaints that some of you need a proxy to play via x location. Well 70% of compaints is about multis, in order to protect users that use their hard earned cash on the site I need to be fair on them and protect them!

It's coming, change won't happen instantaneously.

As for the comment about people making hundreds of email accounts to make multiple accounts - What do you suggest?

A very good idea email verification is good way of reducing multi's though not removing completely:angel:

Ban all new members so they have to email verify in the forums before they are let in to play?

insain is responsible for 90 per cent of the multies in the game, ban him and problem falls off dramatically. the remaining 10% are in ww2 and who really cares about those ones, they allow UK to win a game or two from time-to-time.

i agree with the verify link most places do this already no biggy its just moving on with the flow.......
but being a new member i would be banned (maybe how new would u have to be?)... am i a multi no... but would i be punnished for being a "suspected multi " yes .....how fair is that to the legit ppl that are just new ..... or did i not understand and this would only be for ppl signing up say starting tomorrow?

seems simple enough, add a verify link that is activated the next time someone logs into their account.

btw, my post was semi-sarcastic. any other gaming site will tell you that the email verify process will only slow down multi creation, for those that have flooded this game recently it wont be much of a deterrent

No, when a player gets banned it isn't necessarily permanent. A ban can be as long, or as short, as the person imposing it chooses.

So its you whove created all these multies who are supposed to look like my creations? Youll always know when its Insains multies. You can believe that, and quit mentioning me in everything you post. This is ignorance, if ya read on, i retracted the banning idea, and asked to simply make the sign up link go into the forum sign up link, and how simple THAT would be, which now that I read it, sounds pretty simple EH? SO. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. If you email verify, you have to email from your IP, you cant do it from a proxxy, atleast I dont think ya can, but if therwes a way, its a tremendous amount of hoops to jump thru, and would definitely slow the multie makers down and force them to email from their IP or get real creative to do it from another.
