View Full Version : My Step Father Is An Idiot

Colonel Sanders

Alright so get this. He makes about $3000-$4500 a week and has been for awhile, he is 45 years old. He does not have a house payment nor a car payment. He puts a shit load of the money he makes in savings and doesn't really do anything with it other than investing in a few stocks.

Fair enough that is smart I would say other than one tiny detail. WE HAVE 3 SHIT CARS. One of them is an old Model Ford Truck, like an 86 I think..it barely runs. The second is an 88 Sentra Coup, the third a Mazda Protege Compact 2003 (both very unreliable).

I live in Tennessee so the weather is erratic here. The states tag line should be "Don't like the weather? Come back next week". 3 weeks ago we had 75 degree weather, 2 weeks ago we had tornadoes, this week we have 25 degree weather (Fahrenheit). This goes on literally every week. In fact I think it supposed to be 65 degrees or so this Sunday.

On to the point. Just tonight I tried to take the Protege and pick up my friend to go exercise. It was 25 degrees out, no big deal for me, I wear short sleeve clothing in that weather if it isn't windy. But alas the car does not start, I tried the truck...won't start.

I go back inside all pissed off saying both the cars will not start. What happens if there is an emergency? etc etc.

Then my step dad actually says this: "Well it is cold out, cars do not work well in cold weather and it's normal, don't worry about it"

I felt like slapping that bitch. So I said "So In Canada and Russia where the normal "cold" temperature is -5 and colder a lot of the winter year the whole country just goes without transportation?....he didn't respond to me and just went back upstairs. For a Doctor who makes 3500 a week he isn't too smart.

I am just so pissed off that for as much money that he makes he will not make a SMART INVESTMENT in something like a reliable car such as a 2008 Altima and such; especially considering the cars we have now do not even start in 25 degree weather and are unreliable in the first place.

I know he saves a bit of money by not having a car payment but come on. Some things you just need to make an investment in, especially a reliable car for a doctor who is on call a lot.

Why not buy your own car if it's that important?

hoos
13th February 2008, 09:22 AM
Man you forgot to end it with [/vent]

LOL at the Tenn stat motto.. 'If you don't like the weather, come back next week!" We've got the same weather turnarounds as you guys. This cold weather was due to a fast moving cold front though, and the cold weather swept through a good portion of the mid-atlantic.

Dymond
13th February 2008, 03:15 PM
Dude.. you can diss the other two but saying the Protege is unreliable is fighting words!! We had one (1996) and besides normal wear and tear (brakes and clutch) that think was still going strong at 100K. We sold it to a kid in town and we still see it being driven around town from time to time.

Calienta
13th February 2008, 03:21 PM
Well he's completely retarded if he thinks 25 degrees Fahrenheit is considered 'cold' weather. Our cars (Nissan something-or-other, Dodge Caravan, Oldsmobile Aurora, Oldsmobile Cutlass, Jeep TJ) start here in -58 Fahrenheit. I know because that's how cold it was last winter.

Sorry KAF (nothing personal), but you've gotta stop posting this shit. Every post you make you sound more and more like a spoiled whiny little bitch.

You want to slap your step father in the face because you don't approve of his car choices? But you still drive that free car around. You don't want to visit Granny because it inconveniences you? But you still cash her checks.

Sorry to put you on blast kid, but seriously, get yourself a livejournal or something so you can whine and cry and talk about how you know soo much more than your parents and how the world is soo hard on you....boo hoo hoo.

You say you can't get a job, so you live at home. leeching off your folks and do nothing but complain about the "injustices" of driving around a 2003 Mazda Protege.

LOL wow chill the fuck out.

You have nothing personal at the beginning of the post yet the whole post is frekin personal.

That post in no way portrays me as a "spoiled whiny bitch". I am pointing out the injustices of a doctor not having a single vehicle that can run in 25 degree weather not the "injustices" of me not having a vehicle to drive to pick up my friend. Fuck off bitch. I am quite grateful that I can drive one of the 3 vehicles at least %50 of the time. Like I SAID, talking about the doctor and what, when, where he drives not me. I'm about tired of your shit. You're this 42 year old bitch who likes to call anyone a lot younger than you spoiled brats whenever you see you have the opportunity in their post. Fucking glad when your stereotype know it all wise ass generation dies.

ROFL yes because somehow posting everyday normal in the moment thoughts THAT EVERY SINGLE HUMAN BEING ON THE PLANET has every single day somehow makes me a spoiled brat when I post it on the interwebs.

Nice logic there, you fail. How many bloody times do people on this forum think that their co-workers or some shit are idiots for an even more minor thing than car choices? jesus christ your stupidity is overwhelming right about now.

TJ60
13th February 2008, 04:03 PM

KAF how many posts does it take to see that your never going to get the support you looking for on this forum? You post then bitch when people don't get on your nutsack backing up how your living such a rough life.

Calienta
13th February 2008, 04:06 PM
If you had been complaining about not having a car that worked, then I would agree wtih Maija. However, I felt your post was complaining about his general ignorance and how a doctor on call, or really anybody, who might need to go somewhere in an emergency, can just not care about having a functioning car.

I have no idea about your grandma posts, I haven't read them. But in this case I don't feel you're being a whiny bitch. I want to slap people for being stupid too and it doesn't mean I'm whining.

Colonel Sanders
13th February 2008, 04:07 PM
Alright Jock I'm not looking for this "support". I still go to this forum because I have a lot of memories on it and it is entertaining and helpful at times. Nothing more. All my "internet friends" I actually talk to on vent daily. None on this forum are included in that group.

And why the fuck are you bringing up "rough life" again? Was it mentioned in this thread? Pretty sure it wasn't. It's idiots like you and Maijai who bring all the shit I've brought up in previous posts from months back into new threads that are TOTALLY UNRELATED. I believe the word for that is SPAM. Whatever.

EDIT: And when the unbiased and untainted views of Calienta enter the post miracles of proper thought happen. Amazing.

No it's idiots like you sitting at home bitching about how life is so hard and why the car won't start. Hell it seems from this post your step dad doesn't even care what you think and is used to your whiney bitching. I would also like to thank you for proving my point, maija and I didn't pat you on the back and tell you to go slap him so you could feel better about your non existent life that you have. What do you do? The same ole thing:

As usual, I agree with Maija and Jock. Don't try and pretend like this was some moral cause for the injustices of your stepfather, not being able to respond in an emergency. You're bitching for you and only you. How do I know that? Because you always say you don't give a shit. You don't care about who the fuck he's saving, natural selection for all you care, let em die. The bottom line is, you just want a car to use. Buy one.

some people have certain habits. your step father happens to be a smart conservative person when it comes to money. hes a doctor so hes not brain-dead. its understandable that he can afford a new car and its annoying that he does not buy one.

heres the deal. not realizing this and not coming to live with it makes you immature, which makes you sound like a whiny bitch. basically grow up, i understand it sucks but come on man. read you post again. admit you sound like some little ungrateful douche. and i read you grandmother thing, again world isnt about you. make the mother happy. waste the day. stop being bitch.

lol, i know KAF (Kyle) in real life. (Some of you may remember me)

ANYWAYS, thats not the point, in no way is kyle spoiled, he is 19 and does not have his own car (all the spoiled kids i know that are spoiled had an 08 as soon as it came out) The only transportation he has are these 3 Shitty cars that break down constantly, We live in a small town, Population of like 17,000 so there are no Buses/Taxi's. His Mom and Step dad ride his ass constantly about going to get a job, but every time he tries to go, the car breaks down. Like i said, he is in no way spoiled. I'm more spoiled than he is and i had to have a job for 3 years just to buy my own car/insurance at 17.

I don't know what kind of grudge you hold against him saying he is a whiny bitch. I do know his grandmother lives far away and her house is in no way interesting, and neither is she.

let me say here, im 19 so i know your problems. it was about -25 C yesterday and the buses really are great in that weather. my friends have cars, but i wouldnt even ask my parents for one. to be honest, my father has earned between 250-500K for the past 20 years. i go on vacations, i dont pay for my university, and i have my own cottage. i would be considered upper-middle class. so ya my father could "afford" a new car for me, but have i earned that car or do i really deserve it? it was expected that i graduate from high school. no reward there. its his call to get my a car or not. he knows it would save me a 30 min bud ride to and from class. but it seems like you and me are getting by and a car isnt that important.

i fucken hate my grandmother. no, i dont hate her i just have no relationship with her at all. i was the last grandchild and really didnt matter in her eyes. honestly when she passes i dont know if i will feel sad at all becuase shes a stranger. now, she doesnt live an hour and 45 away, but i do have to visit her sometimes. i see her during major holidays so maybe 4 times a year. i go see her not for her, but for my mother. i know if i refuse it will hurt our relationship and will just piss her off. im not saying be a pushover, but fuck, the Machiavelli way just doesnt always work. suck it up and giver.

the personal shit was just to show you our situations are pretty similar, except it seems that im spoiled and your not. either way seems similar to me. not judging you, just saying somethings are easier when you just let it be.

And yes it has an effect on me. It has an affect on all of us. When one of the cars break down guess who's time and money and appointments are wasted for that week? His, my moms, and sometimes mine. Just 3 weeks ago the Mazda broke down on me at 1am in the morning, I had to call my folks to help me out when they've been asleep for 3 hours...see how it works here? It pisses me off that we have to go through similar situations such as that every month or so just because this Doctor is being a stubborn old man and not willing to shell out a couple hundred extra bucks a month payment (which he can EASILY afford) to make everyones life more certain and less of a hassle.

Dude KAF...you are soo near sighted. Thank god your dad puts 60% of his income into savings...and you know why?? Probably for you!!! When he is old and needs to be put in a home or hospital, he is not going to be a financial burden on you and he may even leave you a tidy little inheritance.

You should be thanking your lucky stars for every dollar that man saves.

(Besides, he probably already knows deep down inside that you won.t help him out when he is older, and he NEEDS to save his income, Far more important than a new car at the moment.)
