Todays Americans to me are different. whats your take on the subject? Our government are idiots and the people voting are idiots. I hope this up and coming election that you took the time too look at the candidates websites and actually vote. if you don't vote then the only ones voting are the ones with hidden agendas. we now have the economic stimulus package. this is being giving to us to jump start our economy. I ask you to spend some money on American made products whether you need it or not. the picture that congress isn't looking at is that gas and electricity are up. more and more people are buying into the walmart propaganda. i shop at walmart. i wish we had a place that took the initiative to actually offer American made products besides online. if you don't buy American products you don't give back to America. you ship your money elsewhere in the world. do you not see this? do you not see what is happening here? we should be increasing import tax. hiring more security at ports creating more American jobs. we need to offer lower taxes to manufacturers that would employ Americans. we need to start caring about what happens here at home. what will years to come look like as our dollar weakens and foreign investors start pulling out from our stock markets. I'm just warning you. its going to get real ugly here in America if we keep this me , me , me , me attitude. look out for your fellow Americans. only we can keep our economy strong.

Yeah which is quite sad. Kinda sucks we drag everyone down, but I guess when we were what 25% of the world economy (that is PURE speculation) it will kind of affect everyone else.

actually we run the country. as soon as we all stop playing internet games and stop running our mouths on forums and actually take the time to find a worthy candidate and back him. you would see how politics really work. the only reason the country is the way it isis because low and middle income people are so broke and beaten down they dont care about who gets elected. yells* then you leave voting to the rich and the special interest groups. you wonder why laws get passed to keep a lower tax for the rich and to tax the low and middle higher so we loose our money while these fuckers get richer. i'm not preaching to any party. i actually have a clue. i'm about the only one. i dont care if you agree or disagree. most likely you'd say i was wrong for shock value of a fight. if i was incharge of this country i'd whip it around in 2 years

Nah my friend, I save the shock value and fighting on flavor topics.

You think you know what you're talking about but your either very young or just completly naieve.
You don't have the first clue how any Country/Government operates.
The President and it's Presidency are nothing more the PUPPETS.

You want to believe voting is the power and the answer, but it isn't.
You want to believe the people are the power but you're not.
You want to believe freedom and democracy is alive and well, but it never was.

One day you will awake from the slumber ( most likely not ) and realize politics have absolutely ZERO BEARING
on how the USA muchless any given Country/Government run/function or operate.

But you are free to continue that dream Mr King. :)

Large corporations PAY for the candidates election campaign..

Except its more of an investment really, an investment to put a figurehead in office.

Kudos to all of the conspiracy theories above, but my take on the US government and the people it governs is that they are quick to take offense to people who do not share their ideas, as demonstrated with the multiple clashes of US democracy and communisms' dictatorships/oligarchies.

I would also say that with the comfortable lifestyles the majority of Americans have, they care less about how they affect the world and more about what some politicians’ morals are. This effectively lets the nation be run on principles that clash with the constitution, such as Mike Huckabee saying he would amend the constitution to fit the 10 commandments, which goes directly against the separation of church and state... Forgive me, but I simply hate idiots... No offense to anyone.

I wonder how many people recall that in the beginning of US history, there was only one political party, and The President was supposed to be the one person who made sure no one did anything stupid. I'm sure, however, that it was not as simple as I wrote it.

Needless to say, the system has evolved, or devolved, to what we now have today.
