I'm sorry but you have to laugh at the picture. It looks really funny, and fake. But the situation isn't funny.

yes it really happened, the truck driver said he felt the impact and stopped as soon as it happened about a 1/4 from where the bike was laying.

speed doesnt kill people, distractions kill people. and in reality slow drivers kill people more than speeders

Well I think there's a point where you are going so fast you have little control over things ... I have gotten up to 225kph before and I felt like I had no control over my car, so I slowed down drastically. This was when I was young and stupid :P And if he had been going slow I doubt he'd have smucked into that truck ...

yea but in this case it was speed, he hit the truck over 120mph. Trust i'm the first to admit i'm a speed junkie, but I just can't bring myself to do it on a bike.

:O what are you driving???? most new cars have a device to cut the engine at around 210kph :P
I too am a speed junkie, We used to have a Renault Laguna that you could take to 180 kph and dont feel a thing, but things start to go by too fast, and i usually drive over the speed limit but not by much, is not just that you can kill yourself, but you can kill someone and survive yourself, and i just couldnt live with that.

120 MPH is really not that fast...but for a bike, fuck yes that is too fast. My cruising speed on the United States Freeways is 110, but that is in a car, and when the road isn't congested.
To be honest I have always felt safer being an aggressive driver than I have defensive, mostly that is in a city though. I just go 110 on the freeway because I think 65 is way too fucking slow these days....and most would agree with me.

speeding doesn't kill anyone nor do distractions. what kills people is one of the following two things:
1. suddenly becoming stationary. (this case)
2. suddenly becoming mobile.

It doesn't kill but can (most likely) be a factor of the cause.
