When you support Scotland luck is not a viable option.
Hope is all we have, well that and drunkenesss.
I'll be at all the home games except the first one against the Faroes because the SFA are cunts.
I'll get a Ukraine scarf and Scotland top for you when we play you at home and send them to you as a consolation:ice:

you must've forgotten Hundav, I am not gonna be pulling for Scotland in its match against Ukraine. but I'll still take 'em as a present, Scotland - Ukraine game falls right on my birthday next year :w00t2:
as for group C, I agree, its a tossup between Moldova and Malta for the top spot :orign: clearly the weakest group in the tournament

yeah you were very unlucky steff, i was all ready to start learning flower of scotland as i fully expected only scotland to make it but mcfadden missed a few and quite staggeringly the results in englands group could not have been any better - so now its all back on England again, i hope you and the rest of scotland will be supporting us if we make it?? :P

Lol Swiss Miss well seeing you used the "cheeky" icon, you know that isn't going to happen, most Scots will be supporting their usual second team, that's whoever is playing against England.(a)

yeah mark, i know the scots would never support england - but seriously i would have supported scotland if they made it and they had such a good campaign i truly think they deserved to........... maybe a change of heart about the olympics as a combined GB team?? :run:

Some scots are stuck in the middle ages and will never accept the english, go ahead and let them split from GB they will be fucked, most of the money spent in scotland is generated by tax on us english

I'm British and will be supporting England btw. The general trend is that Rangers fans support England and everyone else in Scotland don't.

I can't see that happening for 2 reasons.
i. The Welsh & Scottish FA's know that the likelihood of any of their players getting in a combined team is low. They'd have to have a set minimum number of places guaranteed before they'd agree and I really can't see that happening. Can you name a current Welsh player that would get in? I know I can't. As for the Scots, Gordon perhaps?
ii. If it did happen then FIFA would say that the combined team would have to play in the World Cup/European Championships, plus the seperate FA's would lose their voices on the FIFA/EUFA bodies...

Actually Ringpiece I'm pro-Union & consider myself British but would never support a English football or rugby team mainly because of the over whelming amount of arrogant pish that the English based media/comentators & some of their players spout in elephant diarrhea like quanties. I would support Welsh & Irish teams.
I'm by no means anti-English and have no problems with English people, most of the ones I encounter are great, I have English friends & family.
Now if you want to talk tax in a jovial banter sports thread go ahead, did you know that Scots don't pay any taxes at all and the Government never earns any revenue off of Scottish Oil or Whisky industries. Now why don't you replace your butt plug & go talk shite some where else. (a)
Getting back on topic.

i. Would depend if it was an Englishman picking the team. :hehe:
ii. That's been widely reported up here in the media as the main reason it wont happen, there's no way Wales or Scotland FA's would risk losing their National teams. Anyway it's not as if football is a minority sport needing more world wide recognition, why add it to the Olympics?

Id prefer Gareth Bale to Ashley Cole( I think Cole is terribly overrated) and possibly Craig Bellemy as a different attacking option when some pace is required, depending how the manager wants to set his team up.
Craig Gordon definately gets my vote over any other keeper from the UK by a country mile!
also i cant see FIFA/UEFA enforcing your 2nd point.
finally i to would have supported Scotland had they qualified for Euro 2008 they did exceptionally well in their qualifying group, which i think England would of sunk out of sight in, and i take my hat off to them for it.
I dont see the point of those that say "i wouldnt support them" etc etc. Its like i also support any other english or scottish team in europe even though im a Man Utd support i still want to see our home nations do well I cant understand those that dont:dunno:

...Anyway it's not as if football is a minority sport needing more world wide recognition, why add it to the Olympics?
Ummmmm They already did! Football (Mens) has been played at every Summer Olympics except the first Olympics in Athens in 1896, and the 1932 Olympics in Los Angeles. The 1900 & 1904 tournaments were just demonstration tournaments so aren't officially counted. Great Britain won the competition in 1900, 1908 & 1912 - fielding the English national amateur side. The last 3 competions were won by Nigeria, Cameroon & Argentina in that order.
Womens football has been played since 1996. With the USA winning in 1996 & 2004, they were runners up in 2000 when Norway won the Gold medal.
...Craig Gordon definately gets my vote over any other keeper from the UK by a country mile! also i cant see FIFA/UEFA enforcing your 2nd point.
Seems like you're another McClaren. :P Rob Green should be in the England Squad yet he gets ignored time after time...
As for my 2nd point - FIFA have stated many times in the past that if the Combined team played at the Olympics again they would look at scrapping the seperate federations. Jack Warner (Trinidad & Tobago representative) has tried a couple of times to get this very measure put to a vote in the FIFA congress.
Although Sepp Blatter has said publicly that fielding a GBR team at the 2012 Olympics wouldn't be used to promote the formation of a UK team for FIFA/EUFA competitions - he has supported the scrapping of the home federations before. Personally I wouldn't trust the man as far as I could throw him with both arms tied behind my back!
It appears to be academic anyway, since both the FAW and the SFA have stated that they have no wish to take part in a combined team at the Olympics.

id agree with you that rob green deserves a chance ahead of Paul Robinson, ive always been a firm believer of playing form players over "established" ones. but i still think Gordon is far better than green :)

In light of recent events, is group B fucking nuts or what?
It was:w00t:
We have travelled 2,400 miles in the last year to watch Scotland beat the Faroes at Celtic park because Robbie Williams had a concert at Hampden.
Met Steff on the way, watched Nicky's hand swell up when she got bit by some weird Glaswegian insect in a chippy before the France game.
Beat France at home
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NsR5QRi0tA
Beat France away
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NqJFq0dFeY
Kept the ball rolling against Georgia,Lithuania etc.
Watched the bloke in front of us at the Ukraine game fall over when Scotland beat ukraine, get trapped between the seats and see his life flash in front of him as people jumped up and down.
Rose to 13th in the Fifa rankings.
Equalised against Italy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyR2-xAlzpA
lost it in the last minute, sat with Italian fans after the game and watched the Tartan Army swap scarves and sing with them.
What a fucking great year:grin:
Roll on the World Cup qualifiers.
