Athiests as a Majority

This is what it would be like, if the majority of people were athiests.
ATHIEST KID: Mom, I'm going to go fuck a hooker.
ATHIEST MOM: Okay, son.
ATHIEST KID: Afterwards, I'm going to go smoke pot with my friends, since it's "not addictive."
ATHIEST MOM: Okay, come home soon!

The athiest kid leaves the room. The father comes home from work several minutes later.

ATHIEST DAD: Hey!
ATHIEST MOM: Hi, honey! I'm pregnant again. I guess I'll just get another abortion, since "fetuses don't count as human life."
ATHIEST DAD: Okay, get as many abortions as you want!
ATHIEST MOM: Oh, and don't go in the bedroom.
ATHIEST DAD: Why not?
ATHIEST MOM: There are two gay men fucking eachother in there.
ATHIEST DAD: Why are they here?
ATHIEST MOM: I wanted to watch them do it for awhile. They just aren't finished yet.
ATHIEST DAD: Okay, that's fine with me!

Suddenly, their neighbor runs into the house.

ATHIEST NEIGHBOR: Come quick, there's a Christian outside!
ATHIEST MOM: We'll be right there!

The athiest couple quickly put on a pair of black robes and hoods. They then exit the house, and run into the street, where a Christian is nailed to a large, wooden X. He is being burned alive. A crowd of athiests stand around him, all wearing black robes and hoods.

RANDOM ATHIEST: Damn you, Christian! We hate you! We claim to be tolerant of all religions. But we really hate your's! That's because we athiests are hypocritical like that! Die, Christian!

Alright, I understand that each and every religion has its own opinion of things and that YES there are ALOT of stupid people out there..who says STUPID fucking things because their beliefs are alll messed up

However..I fail to understand how someone can be this deluded..I am curious if anybody else See's how funny it is that This individual Accuses Atheists of witchhunting...while doing exactly that..suggesting that because HE is christian..His religion is inherently morally superior

Now here is my question, Does anyone else Feel that just because of who and what they worship that They are morally superior to every other religion.


Secondary question....HOW does you reading a different version of the bible/kuran/satanic bible/etc.

Make you inherently superior, Specifically, when referring to the christian,catholic,jewish,muslim holy books as they were all based off the same original texts?

My point isn't to focus on athiests...Because they arent the only one targeted.

Wiccans, satanists, Well..pretty much EVERYONE, If you are in a religion..everyone else is wrong and are gonna burn in hell, they all have their favored targets but that is what it boils down to, My question is WHY, and if this is the majority's belief or if this is just the minority's opinion

personally my religion says only those who believe Christ is Their savior will receive the kingdom of heaven
as far as here on earth i don't see that it matters

Even though i believe this i dont force people to believe the same and try to be tolerant of all however i have issues that city halls are not allowed to dislay holiday scenery because athiests dont want it

Moral values are not necesarily linked to one's religion, I'm bapthize under roman catholic laws, yet I hardly consider myself a religious person or follow the catholic style of life, yet I wouldn't go around killing people for their religious views, fanatism is the problem there, complete belief in a certain "truth" creates fanatics, who turn out to be mostly closed minded individuals that develop difficulties to interact with other members of the society. Call it catholisms, judaism, or atheims, the extreme attitudes is what is wrong.

Any person should and has the liberty to have his own beliefs but that liberty or right ends exactly where his neighboor starts to have the same right.

From the way you phrased this LT, you seem to be just as closed minded as the fanatics you are trying to diss. Calling someone stupid for what he/she believes in makes you no different, who gave you the right to judge anybodies actions at all? When they start interfering with your life, do something about it (something rational if you understand what that is), don't complain.

As for the holy books, like any book, it was written by humans, if you believe in god (any god) or divine intervention that is completly up to you, but at the end most of this books have a certain value as historic references and that is about it. As for feeling superior then whomever has tell you this is not the greatest example of a member of that religion, as all 3 religions you mentioned based their teachings on humilty and the fear of god.

Those are VERY Broad statements...which every religion makes..But more specifically the Fanatics(whom I believe to be mildly retarded) take those religious bias's and apply them to everything

Now I could reference some of the things said about homosexuals by all the above religions if that makes it easier... They judge people for something that they have no control over

Religion is a choice..Sexual orientation In my Opinion Is not..yet they are still held accountable and called sinners and OPENLY Insulted and attacked.

However people USE the bible to justify their hate of people of other sexual orientations and other religions. And...ALOT of people look down on other religions with the belief that their own is the correct one and OBVIOUSLY they are better..simply because they chose correctly

There are MULTIPLE incarnations of christianity which is based on that principal..muslim religions follows that belief as well. I am no expert on Catholicism but I have a sneaking suspicion they have the same mindset.As does the jewish religion. They all believe they are the only people that are right..and as such have an inherent superiority, Yes I am generalizing..but I am generalizing off their holy teachings not individuals.

Well ya both (Temujin & Santo) have solid and valid points said in your own ways.

Not that this changes the debate but the 3 major religions all stole and manipulatated Summerian theology to base their individual religion. So in all essence they are all phonies. Religions were created as spiritual pipedreams soley for social control and order anyway.
