In my opinion, and by understanding corruption as the methodical transgretion of the law, I would say by far Venezuela, Hugo Chavez is willing to do what ever it takes to have things his way, he changes the constitution of his country to fit his needs and he is eager to go after the people that disagree.

Wouldn't call that corrupt, more like totalitarian to me. Difference between totalitarianism and corruption is basically that the former bends the laws and frames new ones in order to validate authority. The latter isn't as much concerned with the validation of authority as it is with achieving their ends through means adverse to the constitution of a country, or it's laws.
Since the thread does say most corrupt in history, i'd probably have to say that The Roman Empire from around 30 B.C till about 150 A.D was severely corrupt. It was almost completely paralysed in fact. Sources and more conversation to follow..just a little knackered right now is all.

Most Countries people will list are not corrupt but will be communist/ dictatored or as Drunken Monk stated totalitarianism.
When we speak on corruptness, it is the under belly, the root of greed, chaos and often times destruction.
The representation of freedom and democracy but yet behind the curtain selling it (war/death) to the highest bidder.
It is speaking and acting righteous/moral/values but doing exactly opposite as an Goverment in control of said Country.
Well there is no doubt the USA is far ahead leading this respresentation.
Guilty on so many accounts, how could one have enough space to list? lol.
To sum it up one line, if the USA is defined the (world police) that amounts to being involved in everyones business
on some level directly and often times indirectly hence, massive corruptness.

USA is the most modern day one in those terms.
yet we are talking throughout all of history

That would be throughout history because were talking corruptness on a larger continued scale as global.
Throughout history Countries who were corrupt was within not outside it's borders.

probably the brits.
Think about it...we walked into africa, strolled about some, crushed a few viliages/nations with our left foot saying sorry, excuse me, oops did we just do that, we are so sorry, here as we have just trashed your continent why dont you follow us, yes thats right, free jobs for all, we insist we really do, thats right follow us.... and thus years of slavery follows.
Hell africa was just one example, the french and spanish did it too... I suppose it differs slightly was we knew exactly what we were doing.
Edit- of course we were mush smarter than the americans...there was no CNN in our time, keep it up bush, you almost have fully diflected our same away...woot

Ya the Brits were pretty corrupt too, no question about that.
But when it comes to a monopoly globally of control and power,
the Brits in my opinion do not hold a candle to the USA grip of power.
Granted it is has taken a slight dive lately due to the whole economic situation and debt of Iraq.
The USA has held countless military participation (some known publically) but WAY MORE as shadow ops.
If you even take mini wars, the mass destruction the USA has inflicted I don't think is comparable to any Brit full fledged attack.
This mostly due to technology of warfare.
If we look at one angle of let's say mass sales of artillery and weapons to fuel wars all over the world, it's unreal.
The USA provides often times weapons to both factions to fuel their wars
while politically supporting one side but not really caring who wins lol.
I don't know, the Brits for the longests time have been pretty quiet in comparasian excluding the Iraq participation.

I hate this debate, but my only logical respnse to any of it is... The US needs to get out of the business of protecting all of you who are not from the US... The US will be villified no matter what they do! If we refuse to help, we're the bastards that stood back and watched as it all unfolded. If we rush in to help, we're the bastards that came in and killed your babies... Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
One more thing. How do you think a Super Power comes to be a super power? The simple answer is military might. The US spends more on it's military, including development the the entire rest of the world COMBINED. I went to an air show down here in Chile last month, and the biggest participants there were the US. We had more planes, most of which were flown down from the US, than any other country on display. The biggest business in the world is war. Sad but true. And, if you want to stay on top, you better be sure that you've got the best, whether that be your troops or their weapons.
Now to get back to my point. The US funds over 60% of the United Nations, yet has one vote just like the rest. We are constantly asked, or at least we WERE constantly asked, to participate in other countries affairs, particularly when things spiral out of control. I believe the only way to get the world back on our side is to let them be. Once we pull out and leave them on their own, they'll come running back to us begging for help again, and only then can we say, sorry dude's you asked us to leave, maybe the French will help you! LOL
Yeah I know I'm confusing, but I'm a somewhat bitter American. I hear people bitching about Afghanistan, in particular. I was there. I knew American soldiers working there. The majority of their work was humanitarian. They built the majority of the schools and hospitals, NOT the Afgahn Government, yet none of you puppets will ever hear that. You see the news and form your opinions, and that's fine, except many of you are misinformed. To truely judge anothers actions, you should go walk beside them and then form your opinion. Too many of us, myself included, form our opinions based upon what we are fed on TV and through media outlets. Remember, those outlets are political tools as well. In the end, it's time for my neighbors, friends and family to come home and let the world deal with their own problems. We'll be more than happy to sell you you're armaments, just don't ask us to come to your rescue any more.
Alright, fire away. I don't check in all that much any more. Been pretty busy dealing with life, but I'll try to check back and deal with the backlash. LOL

I agree with you bro.......We dont help we are evil, we help, we are evil.
Dont agree with The whole Iraq war though. I have military friends and family and am proud of what they stand for and fighting for us but that ass Bush couldnt leave things alone. Now look, years later and still in Iraq and the ass we hung was at least controlling the shithole. We found no "weapons of mass destruction", Bush just wanted someones head and Saddam was just the irrigant tool to provide.
Osama family are buddies with the bushies so funny his family were the only ones allowed to fly on 911 to get out of dodge. Osamas the piece of shit that needs to be hung but can seem to locate him....gee, i wonder why.
Our economy is now for shit, our dollar sucks ass, gas prices are ludicris (by the way, we all know daddy bush is a oil man), and we need that ass clown out of office.
Sorry about my tirade but you are 100% correct about how we are viewed. I just feel the last 8 years were very damaging to the U.S. though

a couple of things id like to point out in your post.
1) Australia has one of THE best armys in the world. and i do believe we are above america on that.
2) Australia has helped rebuild in many countries after it was destroyed by other countries including america.
3) yes the american army does a good job and the reason your dammed if you do is manily because you stay too fucking long. bush is in it for the money. war gives leaders a reason to increase tax as it helps "fund the army". all war is the same no matter on who it is waged. the only thing that america or any other country for that matter could do to make it not seem like arseholes is leave once they have invaded/defeated/or whatever they were doing there in the first place.

Seriously Hellraiser, Afghanistan was about so much more than Osama. Yeah, Osama is the face that we put up to blame, but it was the whole of Afghanistan that needed change. Osama was being allowed to hide out there by the Taliban. The Taliban are nothing more than war lords, but they quickly became the puppets of Osama when he started funneling money into their movement. To answer this question I can honestly tell you that I don't know a single Afghan that will tell you that they wish the US never came. I don't know any Talibs, but the majority of the people I know in Afghanistan are happy the way things are now, and wouldn't have it any other way, and that the God honest truth. Remember, they were a country who had been at war for the past 50 years. When they weren't fighting foreign invaders, they were fighting amongst themselves. The sad, but true answer is that we protected them from themselves, and again, the majority of Afghans I know would agree to that. Another example from history would be WWII, and I don't think I need to go into the sacrifices my grandfathers made in order for you to understand. I think that one's pretty self explanatory...

You mean after they totally carpet bombed Afghanistan? :hehe:
I should hope so, you destroy it, you rebuild it lol.
I mean hell it's not like that whole war did anything, what was the point of that war again?
Oh ya war on terror lol.
Again, please refer to answer #1. AND for the record. We did NOT carpet bomb the entire country. We stormed their military base and took it for our own. We used the assistance of the Afghan liberation forces, the Northern Alliance to help take the country as smoothly as possible and, to be honest, Afghanistan was one of the quickest, smoothest offensives we've ever been involved in. I agree that Iraq is a different story, but Afghanistan cannot be piled into your generalizations. The war on terror is for real. Do some reading. Where is the Taliban now? Pakistan! Where do they have to run now? All around Pakistan, but they're not welcome in any other neighboring country. Afghanistan was/is a vital country in the war on terrorism. Being there is allowing, at the very least, some serious interference with what was before, a breeding ground for hate and intolerance, and where the planning for the killing of over 3,000 people working in the twin towers was carried out unchecked. There were many other operations carried out by Al Qaeda, and I don't know if you've noticed or not, but that seems to have come to an end since we've been chasing them around the mountains of Afghanistan/Pakistan... Just my opinion.
Yes but most of those media outlets are runned by the Government too lol.

I voted for Bush TWICE, yes twice! I can't say that I'm happy with him, or even with the Iraq war. I have no clue if what we did there was correct or not, and if the reasoning was cooked or not. Osama is nothing, one man so many give so much credit too.
Oddily enough so invisible still on the loose many years later not only from a barrage of US military and
special forces but a global hit list, is enough to question his freedom. I won't even bother to state
how and why he eludes everyone, the simple answer is staring everyone in the face,
but it suits more people to believe Osama is a genius and mastermind terrorist, the James Bond of terrorism.
To honestly believe or be so gullabale to believe as so many do that Osama and crew are soley responsible
for precise strategic attacks with so much damage on US soil is laughable.
But let's get away from what some would call conspiracy here... I have a link later to help with that lol.
Afghanistan had no direct impact on US concern, Afghanistan was nothing more then a "Tune Up"
for testing out new technology and new strategic war tactics to further visualize upcoming planned war efforts in Iraq.
There were hundreds of places worse off politically and socially that needed help from militiant regimes and KU's
from dictators that were and are a much larger threat to the world to this day that still receive
no help to free them from the horrors all in the name of freedom and democracy. Strange eh?
Oddily enough since the war in Iraq happened, the majority of US forces bailed leaving the bag
to other nations to wipe up the mess. Last I checked Canadian forces have been dealing with the fighting and peace keeping for years now.
[COLOR="red"] The war on terror is for real.
The US created the war on terror to fuel their military efforts.
The attacks against it's embassy's and targeted locations were OUTSIDE it's borders
is soley from policing places they had no business in for the last 50** years.
It was this that started the animosity and hatred, brought on by it's own hand, go figure.
[COLOR="red"] Do some reading. Where is the Taliban now? Pakistan! Where do they have to run now? All around Pakistan, but they're not welcome in any other neighboring country. Afghanistan was/is a vital country in the war on terrorism.
I done plenty of reading but I don't just read pro government media fed bullshit or patriot propaganda either.
If one looks close enough, one can find more answers that would hate or more terrifying to be called truth.
The Taliban still exist and are hardly wiped out, they always been in Pakistan so it changes nothing.
[COLOR="red"] Being there is allowing, at the very least, some serious interference with what was before, a breeding ground for hate and intolerance, and where the planning for the killing of over 3,000 people working in the twin towers was carried out unchecked.
Ya see, if you know anything about sleeper cells you would know this hasn't done any serious interference
or done anything to curb any plans of action. This was a hic cup. As for the 3000** dead by the virture of Osama?
well I have serious concerns over that propaganda as well. I will take logic and science over any Government party line.
Maybe if most read the link below by actual engineers and architechs which is hardly considered conspiracy,
you might come to another conclusion of facts of how just how far the 3000** dead and real terrorists is responsible for.
http://www.ae911truth.org/
[COLOR="red"] There were many other operations carried out by Al Qaeda, and I don't know if you've noticed or not, but that seems to have come to an end since we've been chasing them around the mountains of Afghanistan/Pakistan... Just my opinion.
Oddily enough I agree but not for the reason you state.
It all seems to have come to an end oddily enough since more people are becoming aware of a greater truth
behind fall guys and true terrorism may be a little closer to home then most would like to think
or remotely believe is possible. The greater horror indeed.
[COLOR="red"]I voted for Bush TWICE, yes twice! I can't say that I'm happy with him, or even with the Iraq war. What I find funny is Americans like Furyous and others always defending their country or rationalizing their acions in some way, kinda like Germans back in the day did even though they knew what their government was doing was wrong.
And that is exactly what the U.S. is right now...just what Germany was before WW2.
Patriotism is the third most devastating killer of humans.....right behind Religion and Nature.
