some of this you have already heard but here it goes...

ok i have had internet through the local college for as long as i can remember (friend of a friend of a friends ex girlfriends acct or something like that) the acct is invalid now so i have to step up and pay for my internet like everyone else :blank:

my computer quit running in october so i am using my brothers dino of a system its very slow but it does run so i am thankful to have it. I dont know if my problems are my computer or my new internet choice. I have had netzero hispeed since about 6/30 (yeah not long at all). It has not run right since about day 3, i have reinstalled the software soooo many times i cant even count them. I have had to reinstall twice because of a "corrupted copy" error message, and many more times because it just quit working for no reason.

so you have the background here are my questions. does anyone else use or know anything about netzero? has it worked out for you?

any other good internet providers i might check out? I cant afford cable or broadband so thats out and i wont have any more "features" through my local phone company so thats out (we dont get along very well :no3: )

oh and sorry to cam and dellie for ending our sb convo last night..i just got this stupid thing going again grrrr!

My mom had netzero and HATED it!!! She finally got DSL through SBC. I would suggest trying peoplePC or Earthlink if you want to stay with dialup although seriously look into DSL. Its gotten so cheap now that my mom got it and she is tight when it comes to money!

thanks dymond

i will check into all of that. Now my netzero sign in box is stuck on the screen and i cant minimize it or exit that screen or it stops the internet. and it stays on top of all other windows so now i have to look at it :( and move it when it gets in my way booooooo to netzero. AND the biggest bs of all....if i call them for technical support there will be a nominal fee (however much that is)....i say i got 30 days free for a trial period so i have about 3 weeks left to find a different internet provider.

and cam....it is plugged in!!!!!!!!!

I had Earthlink and I've tried PeoplePC and both were decent ISPs. Netzero sucked alot of ASS..

yes it does, it could at least suck MY ass...after all its MY free trial period!

the thing that scares me about dsl is that it seems the cheapest one (and the affordable option for me) is through at&t....my friend just signed up through them and it cost her a cpl hundred dollars to start up...i cant do that. but i noticed that it is only 12.99 a month for yahoo highspeed through them which is well within my budget, especially since i would be able to drop one of my two lines.
