Converting Divx/Xvid AKA DVD-RIP To DVD
its very simple... but your way is pretty hard?
any reasons because i have never used so many softwares just to convert.. now days you can burn AVI files straight to DVD files. with 1 go... saves time
and you can watch it on your DVD player also... and good quality also :)
Great work :D

Actually alot of the stuff I found out there has special audio encoding which alot of these 1 step programs can't handle. Plus if you want the best reencoding out there, there is nothing on the market better than Canopus.. Actually if you notice if your audio is just MP3 you can just use Canopus to convert it. However I like to do custom menus etc before I burn anyways.

i used to use.. converter to convert my AVI files to DVD files.. but most of them lost the original Quality.. and i have used 1 of the popular products also... but i find Nero is faster...Easy to use.. and Still get almost the same Quality as the original file and sound is also great :) if you listen through it with your stereo system it just sounds like cinema...

Me I'm a Surround Sound nut. Unless something has changed any conversion program including Nero will either downsample Digital into a 2.1 stream or ignore it completely. I don't do it as much now that I'm getting alot of stuff from Torrents but I used to like to keep those AC3 5.1 streams that some Divx movies had.

Nero is usually fine for a quick avi to dvd process as most people won't be too particular about quality. However, I've experienced quite a few problems with straight to Nero burns on occasion. Some of them included bad audio streaming, incorrect location of chapter markers that were set, and tiny skips.
If you're really worried about quality though, there are many multi-program steps (including the one Dymond listed) that will work better for you. They usually take forever to do though.

Canopus does an awsome job of Pal to NTSC conversions as well.

The program rocks! My only disappointment was its inability to handle digital streams but I think its a plugin you have to buy for it to work.
