Permaban Cheaters

So I was tossing this idea around the other day and thought I'd throw it out here.

We've all experienced it - people cheating their way through the round, screwing up others' month, and then they get deleted at the end of the round. Well gee, thanks, but my whole round was screwed and I don't see any type of reimbursement.

Then next month that same person signs up again and tries to cheat again, but does it a little smarter. End of the round, he gets deleted because admin are 2smart4u.

My suggestion is, if people are chronic cheaters, by this I mean they have cheated more than once, they should be banned from the game. It just isn't fair to those of us who play properly that we should be affected by this cheating that can go on all round, round after round.

I'm referring to people that use bots, etc, wrecking a round, are proven to do so, and then come back next round to try it again. Whether Dharma has been wrecked by bots hasn't been proven so that's not what I'm meaning.

I'm also not speaking of snooz, because he has only been DQ'd for cheating once.

Pink what if somebody is Team Azing with their friends, jumping you every day, and you can never get your junkies back because they've given their hospital times to friends?

What if someone covers MM and MWJ records and is running Az. It affects all the gunners in the room in that case.

Rachel, there is also no proof UZ were botted last round either! Yes the jumps i saw were stupid and losing alot of guns for very minimal junks and money, but there is no proof that they were bots like all of you were claiming.

And if the admins aren't quick enough to spot the azing strat and disable there account, then shit happens, makes it easier for us Junk runners.

your interpretation of our little wager is canada's finest contribution to the world forum of finest humour since celine dion. i have talked to alan and i think i made myself clear when i told him that he's better off not insulting people outside of AIW. in order to refresh your memory, the wager was about diezel insulting people outside of AIW (after i talked to him), not about posting outside of AIW in general. I haven't kept track of his posts, but if he did insult someone outside of AIW within the last 36 hours, i'm happy to admit you won this bet.


as for this thread, it's an interesting concept to go with the number two - give people 2 free tickets to cheat before they are being banned permanently. would this apply to let's say babysitting rules as well? i find it quite harsh to enforce what you are suggesting in some cases.

I went back looking for the first sensible post, which I thought was the initial one, but seems that was a wind-up too...

Tim, you say babysitters may also be permabanned... poor cabbies eh? I can't be arsed looking for the thread, but I know admin have posted that it's OK for a limited time with 1 extra acc. and it's pretty much anything goes for last 24 hours for merging etc.
As the strategies and tactics needed to do well evolve, I think it's clear that cab/founders need more admin "permission" to access their players acc's for mid-round mergers and reshuffles as well. Many do it, it isn't "cheating", although it may be interprited as such... If all they do is move ppl. from one cart to another, with the players permission, I can't see the problem. Please consider redoing the rules on multi's to differentiate running a cart for the advantage of all (consenting) members, v. farming/slaving/blatant cheating, ie, using 1 acc. for the direct advantage of another.

Sorry to hijack this thread and mention possible idea/suggestion for improvement.

I was merely asking whether this suggestion would also apply to, for instance, a violation of babysitting rules rather than making any suggestions, let alone final calls. I asked that question in order to get some feedback as to where to draw the line. Your thoughts certainly reflect mine when you state "poor cabbies eh?".

Again, if we were to implement this rule in one form or the other, I think it's inevitable to distinguish between major and minor offences which consequently makes this rather tricky and leaves lots of room for people to clown around. Furthermore, the rules don't need to be reviewed in order to cover multi accounts whose sole purpose is to boost another account.

not the same as out and out breaking the rules round after round after round. i think what Rach was saying is that habitual cheaters should be perma banned. babysitting violations should be a case by case situation.

I also meant when cheaters cheating directly affects other people in the room and causes their scores to be shit. The cheater gets disqualified after but all the rest of the players have suffered for it.

cheating=breaking the clearly stated rules wantonly and with total disregard to the consequences of thier actions.
obvious one would be having 2 accounts and using one for slaving. babysitting rules need to be clearly stated before you can start handing out discipline for them.
