Im sure a few of you will have heard of the "challenges" people create for fm08, such as the don fabio challenge, where you attempt to emulate capello's career, usually i dont bother looking at these but i stumbled across one the other day i thought might work with a bit of interest, works like this:
One person starts a new game, as for instance a blue square south team, they take one season with the club to see how they do, after that season you save the game and send it to another player, along with tips on players they could re-loan etc and the targets for the next season,
For instance, Player A starts in the blue square south as bath, if for instance they manage to get promoted, they would pass the save file on to player B with a note (although in this case we can post it in this thread or use a blog) saying:
Two good players to re loan are frankie artus and jennison myrie-williams of bristol city, need a new goalkeeper as ours was inconsistent last year and will probably need a new center back, Target for the year: achieve 20th or higher in the blue square premier
Then player B plays it through, if player B FAILS to achieve the targets then they miss out on the next cycle, if you feel the target set is unfair it can be overruled by the others playing the game, for instance, demanding promotion two years in a row is stupid, any outlandish targets WILL mean you being dropped from the next player cycle
and basically the aim is to get the team as high as you can, and also slowly to remove other players from the game, untill there is two left,
A few rules though:
1: no targets for the first year
2: No cheating or saved game editing, its easy to see if somebody has cheated, and their save will be deleted moving on to the next player with the last unmodified save
3: No stupid targets, while i am sure most people will want to win, this game works a lot better with more people
4: you have 2 weeks MAX to complete your designated season, if you fail to achieve it, we again revert to the previous save and you are removed
5: no interference during another managers season save for the note you may leave at the start, all players may give some ideas on the first season, you cannot ask the person before you to sign certain players, or to improve facilities etc, its entirely their choice
So anyway this idea seemed pretty fun to me, and was just wondering if anyone else wished to take part?
I will play through the first season, then it will move on in order of sign up, unless when you sign up you wish to take a different spot in the order so, just leave a message saying count me in if you wish to play!
We will be playing as bath, unless anyone takes extreme offense at this, chosen due to its close proximity of a league 2 a league 1 and two championship sides, including bristol city who always will become a parent club, giving you useful talent for the first few years.
as i said leave a message, really would like at LEAST 5 players, any less and we can forget it :)
