WTF??? Sigs

ok i recieved an message off of Gr_ stating my sigs were breaking the rules.

i checked the rules. resized my images and messaged back asking if he was happy.

he then preceded to message again complaining about them saying they are breaking the rules and actually listed all the rules for the sigs.

now after reading the rules he posted me and the rules that are stated in the actual forum rules section im come to this conclusion

neither of my sigs are breaking any rules.

they are a combined height of 180px (i made it less then 200 to allow for text aswell)

they are less then 600px wide.

they are not nsfw

in fact i cant see them breaking any rules at all.

so tell me what teh fuck is wrong with the fuckwit you call Gr_ and why he seems to decide that my sig is breaking rules.

and before a mod decides to delete/move this thread im asking a question (may of been rude about it but im pissed about it). i do not mean to flame people and want a genuine answer from this.

i have been nice in posting this and if you want to see me abuse him then ask for the pm i sent him back.

Just remember, Your Sig cannot be taller than 200 pixels high.

If you need help resizing it, just pm me and I'll gladly help you, but please resize your sigs if they are over that height.
Once we pm' you about it, if you don't change it within a reasonable amount of time, staff will remove it for you.

Basically they are too tall and gr_ is gonna keep crying like a wound up bitch until you either crop the picture or make its height 200 pixels

479x 359 on my screen as well Ben. Just ask someone nicely to resize them on a different pc and host it for you. Then see if that fixes the problem.:thumbs:

I think you can understand that I moved this to AIW for obvious reasons.

As far as your signature is concerned, it was way over the limit when I saw it a few days ago and by that I don't mean some 20px. If I wasn't so lazy on a sunday morning, I'd take a closer look at the screenshot you've already resized. Whether or not there was a temporary caching problem, as previously stated, which displayed an old version of your signature is hard to tell now. It is, however, possible and quite likely.

Anyhow, I'm glad everything is fine now and I appreciate that you've adjusted your signature.

yes they were both of the limit and i can understand why Gr_ messaged asking for them to be resized.

BUT they were done so as soon as i recieved the message when i logged in.

and yes that screen shot was the altered version from last night. before they were removed by Gr_. as you can see by both screenshots i had done as asked and changed the size of them. but i was still awarded an infraction and had my complete sig removed not just the so called offending pics.

I won't go into the pixel counting business, but I could imagine that your signaure combined with the text underneath exceeded the dimension limit.


Rules about signatures:

- All dimensions and file size restraints are for all images and text combined, and not on a per image basis.
- Maximum dimensions - 600 pixels wide by 200 pixels high.
- Maximum file size - 600kb
- Once again, NSFW material is prohibited from being used as a signature.
- Moderators will be required to ask you in PM's to take it down willingly or resize it if it violates these rules. This may be done via an infraction warning. Upon being asked, you will have 24 hours after you receive the PM to change the signature or ask for help to resize/change it. Failure to change it will result in the signature being removed. This does not apply to repeat signature offenders or extreme cases where the signature should be removed immediately.
- Administrators, while they usually will ask, are not required to.

i line of text would be roughly equal to 20px which makes up the 200px that i am allowed.

I actually deleted that signature because it was not removed roughly 36 hours after the PM took place. I also verified that you had logged in multiple times after the PM was sent, so I knew you had time to read it and react. You later put it back up and I took it down a second time, which is well within the rules you agreed to.

I'd prefer you didn't do it. You're probably going to run into this rule here:

- No more being a forum wiseass. So don't push things to where it's "technically ok" according to the rules.

The whole point of the signature limits are to keep huge signatures that are pages and pages long from tying up the threads. If you were just adding the same picture over and over, it's basically your signature and should be treated as such.

please refer to type in bold. the first one had no warning at all. Gr just deleted it. had he not just up and delete a sig without warning i probably wouldn't have paid to much notice to him.
i did not put the sig back up. i put it up the original time and that was it. i told tim that he was welcome to delete it if it was offensive to him but i was partially quoting a thread that Gr made.. i really don't see so much of an issue with it. but meh. don't want whiney FAGGOT boy to cry.
i share my account with someone so it may have not been me logging in and my partner doesn't mess with siggys and avatars. she did tell me that i had a private message.
and another issue. i would appreciate in the future that mods do not post my name on the forums. i think that is a privacy issue and up to me if i want other users to know my name. tyvm

I explained why that particular signature was deleted, and there is no mention of anyone actually whining. It was a flame being used as a signature to get around the fact that it needed to remain in AIW. I also know that I did delete it twice, which is why I thought what I explained made due for both situations. So if you did not place it back up there, someone else did. In that case, Gr or someone else did the first one, and I did #'s 2 and 3 based on the PM and explanation that I gave you.

Cushion made me the sig and he resized it to the current size.

since is seems all so important that sig MUST be within regulation size, why not just put a size cap on sigs so that large ones can't even be put in? seems like that would save countless mod hours searching the forums for naughty users that have to big siggies.

i havent loaded any cartel logos in ages but i seem to remember in the past that it wouldnt let you load logos that were too large, using this system for sig pictures seems like an excellent idea from flechette
