Upon initially joining a cartel have the option to choose your cartel efforts. You would either earn drugs, guns, vest or thugs.

why??
what will it add to the game??
currently you earn money and drugs, both of which can be used directly or indirectly to buy vests, guns or thugs, getting them instead of money would mean you are forced to have these items and not just the money.... some people like to hoard, you know??!!!
although, expand your idea and i might understand you better.

You wouldn't be forced to have those items you could still horde if that’s what you choose when you join your cartel. I was thinking it might give a player an option to have said item that they might not even focus on in their game typically. Just a one time deal for the current round, not being able to go back and forth between different items. If I had a choice I don't think I'd pick drugs, I'd pick one of the other three that may help complement whatever strategy I may be working on in the current round.

Doing something like that would take a shitload of coding for something that is pretty much pointless.
Would be a massive waste of admin time, good luck tho LMAO

the only thing i think should be different with benefits is if its an all gun cartel or a machine cartel i think they should get some bennies out of others machines or presses, whether it be actual vests or guns, or even that it makes your machines run at some calculated percentage higher, i think bennies should not be limited to junkie revenue and lab production

I love the long timers on this forums, so very quick to shoot down an idea and laugh at someone for having a "stupid" or "useless" idea. you guys suck.

we used to have games that were almost like the idea you are proposing they were c games
where differnt carts had different strengths

I must be reading the answers given differently than you or there has been some editing since you posted because i can't find anything in the responses to this suggestion calling it stupid or useless and no-one was laughing apart from Wraith and no-one takes any notice of him anyway.

well then you might want to adjust your bifocals and reread the posts then. I see a couple of em that r rude and abrasive.

Very civil, nothing rude about this. Swiss is also one of the last people who will insult a "noob", she is always right there helping them out.

Again, civil. CJ also doesn't go around bashing new players.

Perhaps a person with a soft soul could take this the wrong way, however, knowing Wraith, this is actually quite pleasant.

Nowhere near rude, he elaborates on why he doesn't like the idea, and even goes so far as to stick his own suggestions in. Perfect answer.

This is sarcastic but not rude. Also, he's not a long timer either, so he doesn't count.
There, bifocals adjusted and I still can't see your issue :)

point made for me by you. do you not understand that this was a legitmate idea and obviously made by someone new to the forum and therefor would not know that those ppl are that way. sarcasm to someone you dont know is downright rude. nobody had the intelligence to explain why it wouldnt work only that it would be far to expensive and involve much coding. go ahead, pounce again.

Um, obviously you didnt clarify you intentions for this thread, all you did post outside the restrictions of this sections post. Both Mad Bastard and Lowin proved you wrong. Stick with your own topic guy.

now this is a bit of a backtrack from accusing people of laughing at the suggestion and calling it stupid and useless.

Ok then, the reason this idea is stupid. The way bennies work:
1. You get money from other players junkies.
2. You get drugs from other players lab.
3. YOU GET DEFENCE BONUSES BASED ON OVERALL CARTEL VESTS
4. YOU GET ATTACK BONUSES BASED ON OVERALL CARTEL GUNS
You already get vests/guns from cartel benefits, just not directly. Hence it would be a shitload of coding for something that is basically pointless.
Excuse me for assuming that people would actually know about the game they're playing.

well that only further proves my point that 20 junkie vest only cartel has more benefits and advantage over a 20 sewing machine cartel, both get the same defense bonus, and wouldnt it be nice if your running a mainly junkie cart and you still get bennies off those couple machiners, really it might make a gun cartel too strong but i doubt they will change it anyway

Yes, they get the advantage of getting better bonuses. Then again, they wear targets on their back and become prime rib for any gunner in sight. I'd imagine it evens itself out just a little bit.

yer machines is really easy as it is... with junkies you got the problem of gunners all round on your back and so on
yer a machiner gets the occasional thugging but you can protect yourself with your own thugs... plus the decrease in thugs worth, im not sure how much this has affected thuggers with keeping upto machiners but im guessing it was only a good thing for all machine players

yes but due to the recent outbreak of low stamming all the noob gunners cant use the records board (or thugs apparently), so they just randomly jump people is what ive been seeing, but it seems lately it doesnt matter what i run i get jumped most of the round redardless. oh well
i actually seem to get the least amount of jumps on me when i run junkies

So since I don't know everything about the game I'm playing why don't you explain how it would be a "shitload of coding." Not like we have a bunch of fancy HD graphics in the game. That was kind of the point of the suggestion, if your cartel isn't making guns or vests you wouldn't have that attack or defence bonus. Also the the money and drugs earned is alot more running junkies than guns or vest.

Probably because they spend all the money earned on guns instead of some thugs. Which was my point, if they had thugs as their benefit they could check people out with the thugs they earn instead of just making less sucessful random jumps.

The reason people get more bennies when running junks is because its approx 1% of each tokens junkie/lab revenues earned by your fellow members. As machinists and most gunners don't have as many junkies, they produce less benefits.
As for coding, its not as simple as writing in an option, there is a lot of background formula's and code that would need to be implemented for this to work.

Why can't they just buy some thugs? Gunners have been doing it for years now rather effectively, the drop in worth hasn't affected the ability to get them.
