I was just wondering if there's anyone here who may know how to possibly help me with a little problem i seem to be having...
My Problem
When downloading torrents with "BitComet" i get to about 99.3-99.7% complete and then it just seems to stop downloading. I still have a kB/s rate, just the % stays where it stops
Say it take like an Hr to get to 99.6% then i can leave it for another 48hrs downloading but it will still only be 99.6% complete... anyone seen or heard of a problem like this before??
thankz for any help in advance

only thing ive heard of it before is seeders fucking off.
but if it is happening on multiple torrents at once id say either your connection or your client.

I use Utorrent and never have this problem...As matter of fact, I have never had a problem with it other than the lack of seeds sometimes.

ya the problem is most likely on your end, but you can always try a different tracker like bitlord(what i use) or utorrent...

You know I've heard of this.. The ISP does something on its end to fool the other clients into thinking your finished.. who is your ISP?

It does look like they are doing something to keep you from going from leech to seeding mode...

Sounds like something comcast would do.

definitely does... switch to a higher port range and then forward your port... if you need help with that here... PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall (http://portforward.com/routers.htm)
ISP's monitor certain ports for known pirating/file sharing activity and they WILL fuck with you... i had to do this with utorrent and ive been smooth sailing ever since... they dont monitor the upper ports much for some reason... use like 15000 or something it can be as random as you want it to be... just make sure you forward it so you are open to everyone else... i also suggest getting utorrent as its very small but powerful and wont lag your comp at all

@Crazy Jamaican,
Seems your missing just a single piece. On very rare occasions your router will mess up a particular piece because it identifies it as something it isn't, the hash check will fail, and that be that.
You can try and go to your router page and temporarily (!) set it to bridge mode and see whether that helps getting that last piece. If not, try this:
Torrents stop at 99 percent - AzureusWiki (http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Torrents_stop_at_99_percent)
for other possible solutions.
Cheers.

as doobz and dy said. its the ISP. change to a higher port (something over 50000) comcast did this to me and pissed me off so i called them and bitched, then the guy on the phone told me what to do... worked like a charm.
