there are free anti-virus programs out there that do a good job -- google is your friend.
open office is a freeware program that has a lot of functionality as a word processor. it would be like a 'lite' version of office -- without some of the extra tools.

I use Avast antivirus and also an open Office user. Its hardly a lite version of Micorsoft Office as it has most of the funtionality as MS Office.

if it's free it can't be that good surley. otherwise why would people spend £50 on the package.
what's Avast like Zeus? caused you any security risk problems?

I always wondered why people pay for security, Avira and Avast are up there if not better than many paid protections.
Depending what product you have you may have to run their uninstaller - a lot of times add/remove programs wont work for these products
Here is a bunch of links to free programs

i use avira. love it. and i use comodo and like that aswell.
openoffice.org i think their site is. they are as good as ms office and are free. not that known about cause msoffice is pushed on people in stores when they buy a pc.
and alot of people have the mentality that if it is expensive it must be good.

Did you ever run the norton removal tool? if not it will cause all kinds of issues for you down the road. Just a heads up.
