So your ready to take your first big step from watching movies on your computer to watching them on your TV. You've got a fat pipe and download speed isn't a problem. you want to start downloading full DVD movies instead of their smaller and more heavily compressed brethren the divx/xvid AVI so you've hit your favorite Torrent site and downloaded a DVD-R torrent and now your ready to burn it. But what is that folder full of odd files? How do I put these onto a DVD? I'm here to show you!
Required Software:
1. WinRAR (http://www.rarlabs.com)
2. NERO Burning ROM (http://www.nero.com)
Step 1: Extracting the image file from the smaller .RAR files.
1. Find the folder the torrent was downloaded too. 99% of the movies that are on the Torrent sites will create a folder in the torrent downloads directory that matches the name of the torrent. In my example the directory is this:
C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\My Documents\Downloads\The.Shaggy.Dog.NTSC.DVDR-SCREAM
2. Open the folder and you should see a bunch of files that looks similar to the screenshot below.

3. Double-Click on any of the files with the 3-book icon (A RAR File) to open up WinRar. When it opens you should see the image file that will be extracted from all those .rar files in the folder. Highlight it and click the extract button.

4. In the next screen. Choose where you want to download the image file to in the 'Destination Path' and click OK. In my example its a UNC path because my DVD Burner is on another computer but anywhere you can find it is fine.

5. The image file should begin extracting and BEEP when its done.

Step 2: Burning the extracted image file to DVD
1. Open up Nero and close the 'New Compilation' window.

2. Go up to the 'Recorder' menu and choose 'Burn Image'

3. This should open up a 'Open' window to find the image. Browse out to where you extracted your DVD image to and double-click on it. If you DO NOT see the image it means that the image you extracted is a .img file and Nero doesn't natively support it. However you can still burn it with Nero. In the bottom box in the 'Open' window change the 'Files of Type' from 'Image' to 'All Files' and you will see your image now. Either double-click on it or highlight it and click Open to begin the next step.

Note: Most DVD images from Torrents will either be a .ISO or .IMG file. If its a .ISO file it will show in Nero once you browse to where it is however to see a .img file you will need to change the 'Files of Type'.
4. If you opened a .img image you will see the 'Foreign Image Settings' window. Nothing needs to be changed here so hit OK to continue.

5. The next window is the 'Burn Compilation' Window. This is the last step before the burn. The only thing that has to be changed here is to check 'Finalize DVD'. This will close the DVD session out. If its not checked it may cause problems in DVD players. Once thats checked, place a DVD-R/DVD+R in your burner and click 'Burn'.

6. Your DVD should begin burning. Congratulations on burning your first real DVD!!

Note: You will notice that I'm burning this DVD at 4X (I changed it after the screenshot). Sometimes to get better compatibilty with DVD players I will burn at a slower speed. If you want to try this you can change it from the 'Burn Compilation' window. Just click the dropdown next to 'Write Speed'.
