View Full Version : Jumping For Machines/Presses

What about the ability to jump someone for presses or machines in the next test round or if we bring C games back or if anyone just wants to debate this I wouldn't mind hearing about how people would feel about that.

1) how would a machinist win a jump against another machinist?? they ought to never have enough guns?? would it really be viable to either buy or produce enough guns for the return that you would get??
2) what would a gunner want with a machinists sewing machines?? sure it would increase your worth but not the ability to win any jumps..... and the "vesters" would soon burn through them anyway.....
3) gunners jumping gunners - good gunners fricking hate that already, giving the idiots the ability to take our hard earned junkies from worth players AND our gun machines would surely spell the end of gunning all together
apart from those reasons..... im all for it :haha:

swiss i like you because you try to challenge.
1) Thugs Take On A More Serious Task. Thugs. Not Guns.
2) If You Were To Soley Jump Them For The Machines, And Were Playing Machines, It's Feasible, Just Minus The Price.
3) I Believe There Is Nothing Wrong With Low Stamming, I Posted The Second Highest Score In Dopewars Period Low Stamming. So No, Just No.

This was one of our ideas to have in C games when they recode them in V2 codes. We talked alot about this and we came to the conclusion we would like to try it out and see how it worked. Would take some testing to see what the correct variables were but we all know c games was about worth gunning. and swiss in c games guns are worth more..... so worthers use gun presses, which means you would win gun presses not sewing machines ;)
I will say it again BRING BACK C GAMES!!! im :waiting:

This would depend on the math behind it. I wouldn't want to make a cascading effect where one gunner who gets a ton of presses/machines and have an unbreakable advantage (think about an equivilant low stam gunning strat for presses as an example.) At the same time, we'd need to have the jumps worthwhile in terms of cost.
I'm undecided about this for the time being.

sorry az for being dismissive...... rick, i actually thought about this more last night!
i like the idea in principle - anything that makes a machine strat a bit harder, im all for i just couldnt work out how it would work. Now youve explained it would be a thug task rather than a jump task, it kinda makes sense - many machinists buy thugs anyway but would the thugs you have to buy (and lose during the "machine raid") just detract from the money you could have hoarded at the end of the round? I just can imagine it would be really viable.....
i'll think some more during the day....... and yes, i am very challenging - its a blessing as well as a curse!!

It sounds like a good experiment to try out at least.

Jumping for machines hmm
some things that would need done is how to make it fair/balanced (the reason why C games fell apart the first time)
Cost to make this jump?
Are they sabotaged/broken and need tokens to fix?
What percentage can you win?
What is needed to win/defend?
Is there an X factor (like stanima)?
How separate do you make it from normal jumps?
My thoughts:
ok going with the idea of thugs and thug tasks..
Cost: 4 tokens
All stolen start at 50% output (I believe current code is 1 token = 1% fix for sabotage)
best case you can steal no more than 5% of their total machines
Needed to win Thugs?
Stamina could be used to keep things simple.
Now the more tricky things
This would have to lean more on the gunning side than thugging side...
Hospital system (seperate from main)
5 losses system (if its the persons 5th loss in 24 hours than he/she losses less)
Jump range of 3x not 5x
I am sure I am leaving something out that would need to come into play...

I like the idea of the machines working at a decreased percentage when stolen as we do with junkies and putting them into training, I have more to think about for now

would mean strat adaption Alan, I quite like that idea. Running the same strats can get boring, little twists like this in some rooms could keep the game interesting

It would mean the end of low stamming , How the hell can you low stam if your making 80 jumps a day in warzone with average of say 2 presses per jump would be 160 presses a day add that up over a round and your talking about thousands of presses making guns = worth ,A good friend made this thread but if it was put the vote i would be against it and voting NO

i think the idea was to have this method of gunning set up in some rooms not all.....problem solved

I like the idea if its goin to be set up in another room like C games...but if we r gonna turn B And A games into this then its not enough my junkies getting taken away now i have to lose my machines too? :haha:

Who cares if you lose more guns than normal? They're free...along with the junks you take off all the gunners. Play the low stam like you do any other round, but you've got more worth added on at the end of the round when you start building because of the machines you've acquired.

Its not the gun loss it fucks up your ability to go from 145mill say to 16mill to hit low hoarders with a few tokens puting creds on market ,with gun presses making guns your gonna be alot higher than usaul so you lose one of the bennies of having no presses , i would be happy never to have 1 gun press ever gunning pure or low satmming a waste of tokens if you ask me
