**You should only run 1 antivirus and 1 firewall. You can and should however use multiple antispyware

Here are some firewalls which are free for personal use and most commonly used:

He's listing the ones worth mentioning. AVG isn't/wasn't all that great compared to other free AV's.

That was true of the older versions. Starting in the 09 version they've actually done quite a bit to reduce the amount of strain that it can put on a computer.

Norton is shit, thats why, 99% of computer nerds agree, norton is shite.*
*Actual figure might be exaggerated, but you got the point.

Both Norton and Mcafee are horrible - they are bloat ware in my opinion.
Free AV: Avira or Avast
Paid AV: Kaspersky or ESET NOD32

For Spyware
-Ad-Aware
-Spyware Blaster
& of Course the king of free,
-Spybot Search and Destroy, the best of all.
For Real Time Protection
-Spybot S&D Tea Timer
-Spyware Blaster
-ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite (Not Free, but there's good demo that does something)
NEVER USE WINDOWS DEFENDER!!!
Free Addons for FireFox (If you use FireFox, GET THESE!!!)
-AdBlock Plus (Free, shows blocked ads, great add-on MUST HAVE)
-T.A.C.O. - Targeted Advertising Cookie Opt-Out., To legally get those spying cookies from Yahoo, Google and Youtube etc and still be able to use the site fully, it's a great way to say FUCK YOU COOKIES!
-W.O.T. Web of Trust - Shows User and Expert Reviews of the security, privacy etc of any website. Great for Search Engine Addicts.
For Anti-Virus, nothing Free is good or safe, especially AVG. And NEVER EVER EVER buy Norton OR Mcafee. Norton is terrbile, I don't know how their LiveUpdate feature has no protection from attacks, it's an open port into your computer. I delete it off the new computers they throw it on immediately.
If you want the best, you have to pay, Go ZoneAlarm or TrendMicro. I prefer ZoneAlarm, but it's yearly payments.
Always Scan at least Weekly for Spyware, Adware and Viruses etc, more for you internet nerds, like 2-3 times a week.
Thanks, plus if your looking to extend the list i'm pretty sure AVG is free.
AVG Sucks. My Ex had it and her computer, and she did nothing but play FullTiltPoker on it and was stuffed full of every kind of Spyware and Virus.

Will that work for a 2G Blackberry? I could use a few free programs for a Verizon Curve 8330 Dual-Band.
