This is actually very important. I know the very basics of webpage creation but even so I was offered a job indirectly through a friend of my dad's to work with him to create and design webpages for his company.

Now I need to start a crash course in the basics to advanced stuff in webpage creation and design fairly quick.

First off, which programs will I need to download/buy before I even begin my attempt to make a webpage?

Secondly, is there a tutorial site already made for this/these programs that someone could point me to so that someone doesn't have to sit here and type me out a huge ass tutorial on how to make a fairly decent webpage?

Thanks guys/ladies!

i think your best bet is to go to google and just search for tutorials. I learned basic HTML in a weekend and most of the rest the following week by doing that. Programs you might use are Macromedia dreamweaver kinda pricy though...so...get it elsewhere. or go into microsoft word. then tools\macros\microsoft script editor its an HTML design program thats not half bad and you probably already have it. also the help files in that program make a great reference tool.

Hope this helped at least a little.

if it is for an company then i suggest you should use Macromedia Dreamweaver and also Macromedia Flash.. if you want to make your webpage look more animative...and if it is just an company try downlading..free templetes that suites the business look and try using that...

tutorial links there are tons m8 .. it depends on your liking and creativity because the sites provide you with different information so its best if you look around :)

hope this helps... if you really want an nice layout.. i can get it for you :)

or you can get it your self .. in google type this free+ template+ webpage

you will get tons :)

hope this has helped you enough to get to an understanding..

I concur..Dreamweaver and Flash for sure!! Although an image editting program such as Photoshop wouldn't hurt either.

Yeah photoshop & dreamweaver are ideal for making nice html sites... I wouldnt bother with free tutorials but go straight for some decent video tutorials from people like lynda.com or total training... I have invites for a great tracker dedicated to tutorials if u use torrents?

Both Lynda and Total training are worth it if you can get them!

For sure, its best to get expert tuition... Ive seen plenty of free tutorials that are just utter shit and have never come across a decent one yet.

I saw a torrent today that would be perfect for Biatch! Had everything we talked about in one torrent.

I learned everyting I know about web design from a site called www.htmlgoodies.com It will take you from the very basics all the way through Java... It's the best, easiest to understand site I've ever visited. Start with Primer One, and work your way down the list. By the end of a weekend, you'll have a solid page designed, and you'll know how to not only type all your own code, but you'll also gain the knowledge to read and interpret it. Very valuable for complex editing. Check it out. I bet you'll like the site. I did.
