Colt McCoy and Vince Young were both cheated out of Heisman awards.
bowl-game stat comparison:
McCoy: 41-59 (69.5%), 414 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT; 7 rushes, 3 yards, 1 TD
Bradford: 26-41 (63.4%), 257 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT; 2 rushes, minus-18 yards

Well WC, as a Texas homer, I could see where you would want to make that argument. Colt McCoy would have been worse off if the Heisman was awarded after because Tebow would have won a second time. No doubt about it. McCoy was playing Ohio State. Please, Ohio State? That's almost as perplexing as to how VT got into the BCS. McCoy's great, don't get me wrong, but McCoy's best shot was before bowl season.

I can't argue against McCoy for Heisman, but Bradford was just as deserving if not more deserving. And I do agree the award should be given out after all the bowl games are played. McCoy's team got screwed more than he did as an individual though. How can you justify Oklahoma being in that game when Texas was the only team to beat them and they only had one loss as well?

simple
a top 4 (and only 4) playoff
1v4, 2v3 on Dec 29
winners play for N championship 10 days later
and heismann is fine the way it is -- based on the season. otherwise players not in the top 1-2 bowl games would never win

Colt McCoy carried the Texas Offense while the Texas running game struggled and the Defense also strugged to stop the tOSU running game, Colt played very well the majority of that game. Colt McCoy passed for over 400 yards with a 70% completion% vs a Top 10 defense. Colt McCoy also led his team to 45 points and rallied his team from behind vs Oklahoma, Tim Tebow did no such thing. Also as much as I hate jokelahoma it was real classy of Tim Tebow to do the Gator chomp and taunt jokelahoma players, Colt McCoy would never taunt an opposing player because he is one of the classiest players around just like his Coach.
