Basically Spotify is a free way to listen to any of your favourite music. The site already has 4 million tracks to its name, with deals with all the major labels; EMI, Warner Music, Universal etc... and is growing at the rate of 10 thousand tracks a day.

I know you geeklets are overly interested in illegal downloads etc, but this is sooo easy to use and navigate and is extremely high quality that it puts the likes of LimeWire into the dark ages.

The deal is that you have to listen to a short commercial every 20 minutes, but apart from this you can browse and listen to as much music as you like.

I was wondering how many of yous lot use it? And to those that don't i was gonna point you in the right direction (Y)

Spotify ? A world of music. Instant, simple and free (http://www.spotify.com/en/)

I do believe you're thinking of Pandora (www.pandora.com) in which you can't choose which songs to listen to exactly, but will play music that fits your taste. granted it takes a bit for it to know what you really like, but after about a month, I only put songs on the shelf because I've gotten sick of them.

Oh and there are NO COMMERCIALS!

That would be Last.Fm ;)

A British invention that just sold out to an American company.

Trust me Spotify is exceptional.

You can listen to whole albums, listen to purely 1 artist, listen to music of 1 genre, listen to 1 album on repeat.... :blah:

basically, for so long as you have the internet you can use and abuse endless amounts of music with the mild inconvenience of tri-hourly 20 second adverts.

can't access it?

Spotify free is currently in an invitation-only beta, which means you need to have received an invitation token to access the service
