Seeing how he is in the Hall Of Fame now I think it's the perfect time for thiis discussion. Jordan's individual accolades and accomplishments include five MVP awards, ten All-NBA First Team designations, nine All-Defensive First Team honors, fourteen NBA All-Star Game appearances and three All-Star MVP, ten scoring titles, three steals titles, six NBA Finals MVP awards, and the 1988 NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award. He holds the NBA record for highest career regular season scoring average with 30.12 points per game, as well as averaging a record 33.4 points per game in the playoffs. In 1999, he was named the greatest North American athlete of the 20th century by ESPN, and was second to Babe Ruth on the Associated Press's list of athletes of the century. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame on April 6, 2009.

So is he the greatest to every play the game? I think he is hands down! (and not just because i'm from Chicago and watched every game he played there....yes every game!)

congrats to MJ!!!!
he totally deseres to be in the HOF and was the single most exciting basketball player i have ever, or probably will ever, see.
Purley speaking from athletic ability, Jordan was so dominant it wasnt even fair, he may as well have been playing high school kids most of the time.

More than just Jordan though, the NBA was a much more savory place at that time, players with class were abundant, Larry Bird, Issiah Thomas, Magic Johnson, Chris Mullin, John Paxton, Karl Malone. All great players that paled in comparisson to "His Airness" in talent, but where they did share common ground was thier classiness. You would never have to worry about one of those players running into the crowd to fight a fan, or choke out a coach on the sideline. Even the bad boy of the NBA at the time (Charles Barkley), had a ton of charisma and was a bunch of fun to watch.

I miss the classic NBA i grew up to, this fake-gansta's paradise that the NBA has turned into these days is all but unwatchable. It just makes me appreciate the fact that i got to watch the best player of all time, among a field of stand up players.
Congratulations again Jordan, no one ever deserved a spot in the HOF as much as you do.

There will never be another like #23. Not only for his ability on the court, but he changed so much on the buisness side as well. His marketing ability with Nike was unbelievable. Everyone wanted a pair of Air Jordan's. He transformed the Nike brand and athletes today have him to thank for their endorsement deals.

Jordan is one of the greatest for sure deserves his spot in the hof. He dominated his era just like wilt dominated his era. I am a kobe fan but Lebron easily has a chance to catch jordan if he stays healthy. You put wilt in his prime in todays game he never scores a hundred. Players abilitys evolve there size and athletism. Jordan is an Innovator for sure without him there may not be the players that we see today. I know I will probably be one of the only people in this thread that cant say jordan is the greatest but.... Wilt dominated the game in his prime. Bill russell one more championships. I think kobe and lebron could of done just as well if they were playing in jordans time :haha: Flame away it is just how I feel :bleh:
