What's so great about that? A guy who sounds like the dude from Saw movies voice and stuff to a terrible techno beat?

Don't call that music.

Music is defined as "organized sound"....

Nuff said.

THIS is music....Bethoven's 9th Symphony...in D Minor! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mv-KcF3Rkv8)

or if you REALLY want to get down with the REALLY REAL music, than Go Here-Real Music...and stuff (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDtdQ8bTvRc) (I think GC'ers will REALLY appreciate this song...and video)

did you click the link dumbass??

I'm 23 and love Mozart and Beethoven's Sonatas and Symphonies, as a musician and avid listener of all music. But yes, those who know music tend to appreciate the classical symphonies more than the average person. I fluently play 3 instruments (4 if you count the Bass Guitar as it's own instrument.) So I wouldn't say old people, but rather those with a bit of taste in our flavors for cultured music appreciate and understand Beethoven.

And besides, I'm not getting into the Techno isn't music debate, I was just making a joke, click the link it's a hell of a lot more entertaining in visual and auditory effects.

I said I'm NOT arguing that techno isn't music. I was making a joke, lighten up.

But I do appreciate Classical music, it's not what I generally listen to....here is what I listen to. The Awesome Collection - Justin's Playlist (http://www.playlist.com/playlist/4154749195)

Or I can create an HTML page out of my Winamp playlist which has a puny 690 songs, used to have 10,000 when Napster was legal and the RIAA wasn't trying to get even richer. RIAA is complied of representatives from the top 5 Record Companies, NOT a "Union" for Artists, as the old ADs would have you believe.

Those links were just jokes, old Tiny Toon and Animaniac "Musical Numbers"

First one is 'Istanbul' - They Might Be Giants
second is "Countries of the World" - Yakko Warner

wow tftmc, i didn't know you had such an good taste in music. I prefer Bach and Brahms personally, but Mozart and Beethoven do play major rolls in classical and MODERN music. I too perform on various instruments; Cello mainly, but also a bit of guitar, bass, and piano as well.

Funny, I play Guitar, Bass, Piano and Trumpet. I do love Bach, Tchaikovsky and Brahms as well, but I always found the full 4 movements in Symphony #9 by Beethoven without the singers about the move moving piece of classical music I've ever heard. How it goes from a making you feel as if you're in the most serene setting, than moving into the middle of a Napoleonic Battle scene. It always blew my mind, and way before I saw Clockwork Orange...

But I find the link between classical and contemporary music comes from one man, a little known (these days) musician that went by the name LedBelly. Led Zeppelin named themselves after him!!! Led fucking Zeppelin, Nirvana stated on their most popular TV event he was their favorite artist, and is the most covered musician ever. Black Betty, Midnight Special, Gallows Pole, In the Pines, the list goes on and on. He even killed a man and wrote a song while in a Texas prison and as a black man in the early 1900's he achieved an amazing feat when he sung it to the Warden and afterward I believe the Texas Governor as well, and I'm paraphrasing but the Warden said something to the effect of "It's just not right to keep a man which such talent locked up, no matter what" and granted a full and unconditional pardon.

He basically created the basic platform for all modern music. Using mostly music of E-Pentatonic scale with Mississippi/Louisiana Delta guitar playing techniques, finger pickin', slides, pull-offs, the typical "rock" sounds and techniques, coupled with the sounds from the Gospel Music in the Southern Baptist churches, which Gospel if sped up, slowed down or mixed with a certain beat could be Soul, R&B, etc, and from those influences created the basis for all contemporary music, from Blues, Rock, Jazz, Soul, Country, R&B, Reggae, even Hip-Hop and pretty much any type of music that uses a guitar. I think the most talented musicians of the past 70 years and still to this day have in some way been influenced by Led Belly.
