so, 3 days late, i know......
but the tour de france started at the weekend (we have had an individual time trial, a couple of stages and today was the team time trial).
lance armstrong is back and missed the yellow jersey today by less than a second, the judges had to go back to the individual time trial result to split the difference between armstrong and cancellara (sp) - "swiss timing" he joked..... something i obviously approve of :haha:
the team trial was amazing - those boys averaged over 50kmh, thats pretty amazing...... best of all was the garmin team who cycled pretty much the whole course with only 5 riders (you need 5 to stop the clock incidentally), 2 brits amongst them who are now both in the top 10 (Y) and with cavendish leading the points green jersey things are looking up for the brits.
i suppose the question to be asked is..... can armstrong eek out another win? the race is never won/lost in these early stages on the flat but in the mountains when one amazing/bad day can win/lose things for you and so long as armstrong is in touch (which he obviously is right now) i dont think you can rule him out.
next question is, how many doping offences will be discovered throughout/after the tour??...... its so sad that the sport is marred by this.
so i finish with one of my favourite phrases: drugs are bad kids, mmmkay.
