As Footy (soccer to the yanks and canadians) season soon approaches (15th Aug) zwixxx and i decided to setup a fantasy league for the oddthought forum.

This season the game is based on 5 European Leagues.

Name Your Team & Choose a Manager Profile

You must provide a unique name for your team. Please note any names deemed inappropriate or offensive will not be

allowed and teams will be disqualified and withdrawn from the game.

You will also be asked 'What Type of Manager Are You?'. This will be added to your 'profile' in the game and will

tell your fellow managers what type of management style they are up against!


How to Pick Your Team

You choose your players from the 'real life' players in the five main European Leagues; English Premier League,

Spanish La Liga, German Bundesliga, French Ligue 1 and Italian Serie A.

You will need to select a formation for your team to play in. The formation you pick will decide the shape of your

squad, your tactics and how your budget is spent. Choose your formation carefully as you cannot change it once you

have submitted your team.


To enter a team you must select 11 players a manager and 4 subs from the five European Leagues (English Premier

League, Spanish La Liga, German Bundesliga, French Ligue 1 and Italian Serie A) teams from your budget of £ 145

million (15 players in total).

Your subs need to be 1 extra Striker, Midfielder, Defender and Goal Keeper, and you can swap these around within

your team without using up your allocated transfers. Teams must then be submitted to score points in the game.

You must choose one player to be your Captain . Your Captain scores DOUBLE POINTS.

You can either manually pick a team using your footballing know-how, or use the 'Lucky Dip' option, where the

computer picks a team for you.

Please Note: You can only pick a maximum of 3 players (including a manager) from 1 club.

Important: Up until 17.00 (UK time) on Friday, 15th August 2008 there is a transfer amnesty - you can shuffle your

team around to your heart's content without using your transfers. Transfers made after the transfer window closes

will be taken from the transfer allocation for that month.

Submitting your Team

Once your team is complete you must submit it to start scoring points. All teams which are complete by the Friday,

15th August 2008 at 17.00 (UK time) will be automatically submitted. Any teams incomplete or entered after the

transfer amnesty will need to be manually submitted to start scoring points. To do this press the 'submit' button

which will appear on the 'team' page once your team is FULLY built.

All teams will receive an allocation of transfers for the first match weekend every month (September 08 - May 10). A transfer amnesty is in place until 17.00 (UK time) on 15th August 2009. Transfers may be made for free until this date and will not count towards your allocation.

I been reading the site rules it dont say any thing about extra cash, but i am sure if the value of your squad rises or falls will effect transfers.

we're aware. gav has spoken with them about that and it was supposed to be updated already. my suggestion would be for everyone to copy down the teams they picked so they won't have a hard time getting most of the players back...then fill in the extras that won't be playing in the leagues available this season
