I remember this coming up a while ago in the forum, which was the first time I'd heard about these beliefs in a new generation of psychic children. My inclination is to think it's complete bollocks, but I don't know anything about it really, so if anyone does I'd be interested to know where these beliefs come from.
There's a documentary in the UK tonight about this, which made me think about it:

they are called indigo kids because indigo is the color of their auras. I don't think they are all necessarily psychic, some are, some are savants, some are very spiritual, etc. Some are even normal. I have even heard some indigos have additional strands of DN4. They are exclusive to this time in history, so i wonder what they are really about and I'd like to see this show.

i had never heard of this before, very interesting. I found out about 15 yrs ago (give or take a few) that i was able to read auras. I dont know if everyone can or not. There was a group of about 8 of us that worked on it but only 2 of us ever really were able to constistently see auras. Is this something that most ppl are able to see?
also delie... are all people with crystal auras a "crystal kid"? I have a friend who is about 32 and he has a crystal aura. After reading the list he has alot of those characteristics. But alot of those characteristics are true for anyone with a crystal aura (according to what i learned about the different colors of the aura) so thats why i was wondering.
(hope all this makes sense its a xanax night for me :) )

A friend of mine has a six year old daughter who recently said she can see colours around people.
I don't know if this indigo kid thing is that new, people with different abilities have been around for a long time and kids have always been more perseptive. Maybe it's a tag to something that has always been there but never fully looked at.

this was a really interesting programme
im sure theres some truth behind this although some of it did seem a bit far fetched
my daughter used to say she could see dead people, i just brushed it off as i felt uneasy talking about it and didnt want to feed her imagination. in the last 2 yrs shes grown out of it (now 15), mybe if it was a more open subject there would be more healers etc i think alot of children are born with gifts which if not nutured they grow out of.

After watching the programme, which was really interesting, it still seems far more reasonable to me to accept a mundane explanation rather than a spiritual one. All parents want to tell they're children their special, and this gives them an excuse to do so to a ridiculous extent. I don't think giving children an inflated sense of self importance, and teaching them to reject conventional medicine does them any good. I haven't seen or heard of any hard evidence to back any of this up, and considering that some of these people claim to be able to heal others, that evidence shouldn't be that hard to collect I wouldn't have thought.
Just my opinions, I certainly don't think it's impossible, just very unlikely.

Yes most people with crystal auras are crystal children, but I personally know two crystal children that do not have crystal auras. As for seeing auras there is a debate as to wether everyone can or not, I believe everyone can if hey embrace it, but that can be a hard process if you start late and were conditioned to not believe in such things. I have seen auras my whole life, its not something I'm able to turn off.
And Kat, the healing all really depends on what it is... do I believe this type of healing can help anything? yes yes i do. do I think it can solve every problem? well no.

ill be blunt.. seems like crap... i dont believe in all this "Aura" Stuff for starters, if these things are true its a DNA mutation, and that site even goes as far as to say that kids can move things with thier mind.. that would hit the headlines big time and cant say ive ever read in a paper about it,
The whole subject is just food for "spiritual" junkies, and im not meaning to call people here liars but its meant to still be pretty rare yet how many of this community claim to be able to see or do some of this crap, or know some people with the abilities?
not saying its impossible, im saying its bullshit, concocted by people who need to feel important, and fed on by sad people (probably bullied and unpopular) in an attempt to gain a foothold in life, but ims ure it could be a big money spinner
Dear Tabloid.
My kids a crystal child, he can like levitate shit and see auras, did you know im bright red? probably a bad thing, but hey.. Wanna come get an exclusive? only £200,000.. Ill be setting up a website and selling merchandise too!!
Regards, Breeder of special children
It's the biggest con since scientology.
i cant really speak on the crystal children since i know nothing about it, but I can read auras. just becuase you dont have the ability to see them doesnt mean that it doesnt exist. I was never bullied...i was athletic in school and starting in junior high spent 2 hrs before school 3 days a week lifting weights and the other 2 days a week i got in an extra practice in the pool. I also was never unpopular :dunno:

I'll bet you $40 that people who can "Read Auras" will read differently. I'll bet if I asked 5 of these "Readers" 4 would read a different color. No one can read auras. I find it amazing how rare this trait is, yet there are already 2 people on this forum alone that can read auras and one person even knows 2 others who are "Crystal".

anybody with open-mind can be taught to see auras, and just like any talent, you get better skilled with practice!
Method 1: The Simple Way
1. Sit facing a neutral backdrop in a relaxed posture.
2. Point your index fingers towards each other so they overlap in front of you.
3. Move your overlapped fingers just above your nose so one of them touches your nose.
4. Focus your sight on the middle of your overlapped fingers.
5. Slowly move your hands away from your face and away from each other, so they gradually move to the left and right of your field of view.
6. If you are doing it right you should see the ends of your fingers joined together in the middle of your field of view. Your eyes should be slightly out of focus and it will look like you are seeing double.
7. Don't focus on your fingers, but on the space around them. You should start to see colours towards the end of your fingertips. Congratulations! This is your aura.
Mathod 2: The Reliable Way
1. Sit facing a neutral backdrop in a relaxed posture.
2. Cover a book in blue, red or green paper.
3. Stand the covered book against your backdrop.
4. Close your eyes, breathe slowly and not too deeply. Focus on how calm you feel.
5. When ready, slowly open your eyes and without focussing (using your eye muscles to squint or stare) gaze upon the area to the right or left of the covered book.
6. After 30-60 seconds a feint color will start to appear around the edges of the book. It will build up over time and become more colourful.
7. Don't look directly at the book or else the aura will dissappear.
8. Once you are finished remove the book and wait for your eyes to re-adjust to the lighting in the room.

I believe I have a very open mind, and I'm not one to tell anyone they can't do anything, or what to believe in, but this one I'd just like to offer up one thing. I know alot of people who believe in precog, auras, tarot, etc. I've had my palms read, card readings, my aura, pretty much whatever one of them wanted to try at whatever time. I've also "seen" ghosts, and have my own sort of 'psychic' ability, in that on a fairly regular basis, when something is happening or immediately before it, I know whats going to happen, it's entirely inane situations 98% of the time, but on occassion it's interesting. I personally have attributed it to my Sleep Paralysis, which is an altogether different and rather frightening thing to deal with as a kid, but thats the same time this started..anyways I say all of this to lead up to this. I don't buy that at all, if you look at a bright right directly you will see different colors around the outside of your vision as well, if you don't sleep for too long you will begin to see the shadow people(important to remember the shadow people do not exist, this is especially important when using mind altering substances:)), if you let your eyes rest unfocused you can see the sailboat in what looks like a bunch of junk..etc..it's not telling me I have a blue aura that likes to go sailing.

I was thinking the same thing. Eyes are just an organ that interprets reality and feeds it to our brain in a way which we can understand; sight isn't a direct interpretation of reality. If you try and confuse this process by focusing wierdly of course they're going to see weird things. It's rather less impressive than magic eye pictures. Of course, people might be able to genuinely see auras, I don't know either way.

My views...
Auras are merely emanations of the energy fields that exist within all matter. Colors vibrate at specific vibrational frequencies, therefore an item can emit colored light that is visible to the naked eye. Some people are capable of seeing this light without having to "learn" how to do so. Human beings have become so reliant on technology that we have gotten lazy about using the parts of our brains responsible for all of the "weird" things that were once considered to be commonplace. I believe that telekinetic abilities were once the norm...MY explanation for the building of the pyramids.
Self healing is thought of as normal even by today's standards (ie: the power of "positive thinking"). Prayer is a concentrated effort by an individual or a group of like-minded individuals trying to bring about a specific result by the same method. Why is it so hard for some people to take this to the next step I wonder? If you believe something to be true to the core of your being...it can become so. Maybe not in all cases, but failure to bring about certain results is usually attributed to lack of faith, or something deeper that is needed more.
We only use roughly 20% of our brains they say...what are YOU doing with the other 80% of yours?
