Simply fascinating. And just imagine the potential applications.

Micro-Motor runs on Bacteria Power (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14560502/from/RS.2/)

sounds pretty fucking useless to me.

Spork!!!

Nanotechnology scares me with self-replicating machines. Now they are talking nanobiotechnology, little robots with germs. Great.
Can't see us running cars on them, but the medical implications could be great for microscopic motorised medication delivery, "internal" surgery etc., if it all stays under "our" control...

An electric motor that can operate underwater and uses sugar for its fuel source
sounds useless? Did you even read the article?

Well. Then picture this...
You're sitting in your jacuzzi relaxing...

...and, WHAM!!, blood blister on your big toe from a nano-torpedo!
Take that.

lol. this is what it does (http://www.livescience.com/php/video/player.php?video_id=TinyDriver)..

and you're impressed? -i'm not surprised

click here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcVOcgtSw6Q) for more amazing bacterial spinners, and these are actually useful, blows your fuckin mind eh?

its only a start though; when computers were first invented with vacum tubes they couldnt really do fuck all that i cant do with an abacus.

do you know HOW to use an abacus? :-#

anyways, I'm impressed, but also not impressed at the same time. 1.6 revs can't really power much. When they get in the 3-4 digits, then I'll be a little more impressed. But I am impressed by the idea.

Nanotechnology scares me...

From WIRED magazine:

Nanobomb
By manipulating the properties of metals on the nanoscale, Defense and Energy Department scientists are figuring out how to make faster and more energetic explosions. The goal? Compact weapons that pack several times the detonative force of even the MOAB (mother of all bombs). Next up: a briefcase nanonuke.
