it would be nice if we could reserve seats in a cartel for particular members, so that i can give out the cartel info to a group of people, and not worry about said particular members not getting a spot.
for making a reservation, a new password could be created for the cartel, and once the player joins using the reservation password, that password becomes no longer valid, while other players join using the regular cartel password.

That would be a pretty cool option, but I could only see it being done with a premie cartel. It would be nice if when creating the cartel the founder is able to reserve "x" amount of spots.

what about if the cartel leader was able to register these accounts on behalf of players, put them into the cartel and then hand the login details over to the players?

Then what would happen if the person wanted to pull and the leader knew their logins? Or would they be able to change the password when they get in the cart?

you can change your password anytime under 'home' click 'preferences'

and to register accounts for people, you need to get all their info, desired handle and username, email, etc, and enter it all, multiplied by however many people you want to get in...it would be easier for the founder to just set up a few reservations, each reservation gets its own unique password, and each password is only good once.

Just change the pass for the new round and give the new one to the ppl. you want in. If you need more members change it back (to the "usual" one) as soon as all the ppl. you wanted places kept for are in. Run your "backup crew" with the "regular" pass so your occasional players can join straight away too, and move people around as needed.

I am new to the game and I think these suggestions are all pretty cool. I just wonder if is worth all that trouble. Wouldn't it be simple enough to just inform the ppl you are seeking out that the cartel is ready for them and then just make your appointments. And if by chance the cartel is full simply ask for voluntary resignations, or just boot ppl. I mean I am new and all but I design sites and I just think that is overload on the designer and supervisory staff.

It would make it too easy to run a cartel NEVER GOING TO BE PUT INTO THE GAME. other than that not bad

It can't be that hard to just give specific people the info, can it? Just talk to them in a group convo on MSN or PM them or something. Then no one else gets in unwanted.

thats how i do it currently, but every round, people bring friends without consulting me first, and then some key players dont get seats, and i have to make room for them

if we implemented my reserved cartel seats, i could just reserve a few seats for the people i absolutly want in my cartel, then i could post the info in forum for the general public to fill the rest of my cartel.

and i dont believe it really makes the game any easier. it wont make any cartel more or less successfull, it only makes founding a cartel more user friendly. and more user friendly means more fun IMO (y)

If people are bringing their friends and they were not invited, it seems to me that you would just tell them not to bring friend until seats that need to be filled have been.

As I have said I don't know much about the game yet I am still learning. I am simply looking at this from a graphic designers point of view. The additional scripting that would be required would take many hour and lots of test runs. It just seems to me that there is a way that the cartel bosses could do this and not involve the extensive hours that it would take the designers to impliment.
