so incase most of you haven't noticed during all these school shootings they have passed all types of crazy laws in the states...

And they have also...absolved bush of his war crimes....

do you think that media crazed crimes happen more when new laws need to passed so nobody notices these ridiculous new laws getting passed...

perhaps i am not wording myself right but...

school shootings gets all the media attention (and so it should)
and all these new laws that violate your rights happen within the 5 min span that it took to report these crimes...and new laws take a back seat to school shootings...
but in the long run...these laws will fuck you the "american citizen" over hardcore...

sorta my conspiracy theory..

well i am canadian..but...my household coldn't help but notice that...
there's alot of shcool shootings and stupid laws being passed at the exact same time as the media goes nuts over these horrible crimes.

edit..here is a article..

congress today...

...while most watched the "poor" t. owen's oops-not-a-suicide... and the the convenient school hostage situation (that lasted almost the same time as the debate and vote count...to the minute) on the mainstream news...

in a 5 minute vote...and yes it was 5 minutes... passed a law that said the supreme court ruling in june that bush was GUILTY of FELONIES was wrong about its constitutional interpretation?!?

bush is not a criminal...

BUT you may be one under the new definitions.

UK Goverment has been using that technique for years

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/1823120.stm

UK papers have been full of Kids getting shot by kids the past week or so. Also there seems to be an increase in Rottweillers savaging young kids the past week.

Wonder what our lot have slipped underneath our noses the past few days

Where did you find this aeon?

I checked a bit, and I found this page http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h109-6054
But what does this last action thing mean:
"Placed on the Union Calendar, Calendar No. 409"
What does it mean, is it passed or not?

Here's the pdf file of the bill http://balkin.blogspot.com/Bush.Military.Commissions.Bill.pdf

I tried to read it, but I have to be honest, it doesn't make much sense to me, lawlanguage has too many simultaneous meanings for my comprehension :(

I didn't read everything Aeon, but I'm assuming your hubbub is about the executive orders at the bottom stating they can take over everything correct?

Just want to put this on there if you need it...
Until the 1950s, there were no rules or guidelines outlining what the president could or could not do through an executive order. However, the Supreme Court ruled in Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. v. Sawyer, 343 U.S. 579 that Executive Order 10340 from President Harry S. Truman placing all steel mills in the country under federal control was invalid because it attempted to make law, rather than clarify or act to further a law put forth by the Congress or the Constitution. Presidents since this decision have generally been careful to cite which specific laws they are acting under when issuing new executive orders.
