Not a bad idea. I can gather a lot of info for you fellas. I'm a shade tree mechanic, and wouldn't mind helping out here. Let me see what I can gather...

it really isn't a bad idea ..BUT people who need the information should have to pay! lmao j/k..but they should be a premmy in either in GC or DW

erm if we had someone to write them lmao, radios is steves area, brakes iam not sure about
maybe you should go take some classes and learn how??:P

i just dont have time to write them or i would..disc brakes are simple, drums a little more complicated but still not hard..if people need a specific procedure, i'd be happy to help em out.

disk brakes are so easy... two alan or star head bolts, slide caliper off the rotor pop the pads out, open cap on master cylinder use a vice and push the caliper back in flush, snap in new pads, slide back one rotor, put the 2 bolts back in, top off master cylinder with brake fluid. Then you would need to bleed the brakes.

I think that's really half the problem with a general tech thread. It's kind of hard to generalize all repairs. The thing is, different cars have different set ups, and it probably would be better handled on a case by case basis. I belong to another board where they did the same, and as things came up, and solutions were found, they "archived" them in another section called the Tech Archives. I think that's probably the best way to do a tech section, now that I've thought about it a bit more....
