my buddies car broke down, when he tries to start it, a little battery light comes on the dash with the letters "AMP". and it makes a repetitious clicking noise. the battery definately has juice, cuz the lights and shit come on.
we think it might be a loose connection, but idunno where? the leads on the batt. are pretty solid. :S

check the wires to and from the alternator, they might be lose, or broken. Do the lights go off wen you try start it? If so the battery is flat, which means the alternor is fucked, or a light has been left on :) and theres not enough power to start up :ice:
Worst case would is, the starter motor is fucked, but it sounds like the alternator or battery :ice:
hope this helps :P

That could be the problem. What kind of car is it? Do you know if it has a solenoid?
If so, tell your friend to push the car up an incline (like a hill or something). Then, put it in neutral. Now, release the brake, let the old jalopy roll down the hill and go buy something that fucking starts!!

check the alternator..that is probably the reason why its not starting ..or your ignition/starter is not good..or he has bad spark plugs

Solenoid ?<----

thats your clicking noise when he tries to start it. First thing you should try is jumping the car off or getting the battery charged. If it doesn't start then pull your solenoid....(if it's not attached to your starter like most cars) it's usually the grey bulky peice attached to your starter. take it to a parts store and have it tested.
*if the car starts it's probably the Alternator going bad.
