1) you'll never win this argument OT... I had a room mate (Flat mate) from South Africa and we had this argument several times (all in good fun, BTW. Never turned into a Americans are assholes discussion). Never went anywhere...

2) Talk about ignorance.... IMO, People hate America because they are the number 1 super power in the world, and it's always popular to hate the best. That is, until someone like Hitler decides to march into your country and start shit, then you're really quick to buddy up to the number one super power.... Why do you hate us all just based upon where we were born?

3) There are more millionaires in America than anywhere else in the world... Most of the millionaires I've had the opportunity to meet have not been stupid.

4) Spell shit however the fuck you want. I don't give a fuck, as long as it's legible. You think English is bad? Here in South America, every country has it's own "language". It's all spanish, but it's been bastardized over time, so every country you go to, you have to learn their form of Spanish, and depending on where you're at, there are several local dialects that you may have to learn as well... The bastardization of English is nothing compared to the bastardization of Spanish... Almost no one here speaks proper castillano.

5) Calm down you silly Brits/Canadians/Aussies. Just because one guy comes on here and takes a shot at you, doesn't mean you all have to start painting all Americans with the same brush. Seriously, we're not all ignorant assholes. Some of us have travelled outside of our own borders, and understand that it takes all kinds to make this world work....

6) I wish some of my fellow Americans would stop coming on here and flaming like this... But, I do have to say that the flaming goes both ways... In the words of Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along?" :)

Seriously though, I don't have anything against anyone... I guess I just don't don't understand blind hatred for other people. Kinda stupid if you ask me. Judge people individually, not as a whole...

As far as I can see nobody in this thread has actually said they hate America or Americans. As for America being the world's superpower - that may be true now but in the future? Who knows, China I suspect.

Actually dropping the U was part of an initiative the Teddy Roosevelt wanted to pass to clean up the english language. The initiative died but some words were soon cleaned up..Look it up..not lying!

Hitler wanted the UK as an allie believe it or not, and the first world war was because of pacts with countrys, we agreed to defend this country, germany agreed defend that country etc etc, and the first world was started in 1914 until 1918, second world war started on 9th September 1939 and ended in 1945, i knew that history GCSE would come in useful lol
