car stereo guys i have a ?

how do you go about supplying 17.0V of power my caps keeeps the juice at 14.4-14.2v
never really ran into this problem before so i was not real sure :unsure:

reason being i was looking into a ma audio amp

you cant really supply your car with 17.0 volts under any kind of normal situation. I'm pretty sure you must be looking at the hardcore series MA Digital Amps, which are rated by watt output at 17V, but in order to achive that you would have to drastically alter your charging system, Re-wound alternator, minimum dual battery setup,isolaters, a custom voltage regulate, ect ect.unless you plan for you car to only be a show queen, there is no need for 17 volts, the 14.4 is normal and perfectly acceptable for the amp.

i am about to start a install on a fellow dw players car(DPG)
he is going whith
3 12' l7 dual 4 ohms ran off 1500.1 (ran at 2.66 ohms)
for highs he is going whith 2 sets rs56.2 ran off zx350.4
alpine dvd head unit and 2 visior screens
all kicker wires


and i know you are a kicker guy so i may have some ?

right now i am running two 12'' jl w6 off 1000x1 jl amp and it just is not loud enough and i have a little extra cash then i am doing the install on dpgs car so he is picking up the cost of a amp (or 2)

i have kids too....i had a system in my mustang, then the damn car got so loud and i had so much stuff running on the car for aftermarket fuel pump, the NOS soleniods, gauges, trying to run a 1200w amp and 2 12's with underdrive pulleys on the car..i just couldn't do it. So i tossed it all in my eclipse and it hasn't moved out of the drive way in 2 months :|

To get back to your 17v question. I suggest not trying to push that much voltage through any car's elec. system that you intend to drive. It's not too hard to get the voltage (not too cheap, either), but many of the cars other systems might not handle it. You might lose little things like A/C, power windows/locks, fuel pump, IGNITION, etc. etc......

any 15 worth shit is dual voice coil, and 4 ohm or better each coil (my l7 15 is dual 2 ohm, running at 1 stable) and the 4000D is not 1 ohm stable.

wrong amp it was 4400hdk ibelive and it said it was 2200wx2 at 2 ohms
whitch i could have ran 2 15 dvc (dual 2ohm) to each chan

i also started looking at that amp a little more and notice it pushes 3600Wx1 at 2 ohms and you can wire any 4 subs that are dual 4 ohms down to 2 ohms as show on page 18 of above link

i have in the old ladys ride one 15 l5 dual 2ohm running at 4 ohms off a 500X1 jlaudio puts out much cleaner bass ran at 4 ohms then 1

if your amp will give the right output at 4 ohms i suggest you cheak it out
