isn't today the 10th?
and what does poppy have to do with it? I assume this is a british holiday, similar to veteran's day in america (based on the end of WW1). but we don't wear poppies
EDIT: nevermind, I looked it up
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

yeah it's the 10th, but I'll let it slide...... I'm not sure why This is a holiday and V-J Day and V-E day aren't as popular.

Are you saying you don't realize why it's a holiday? You don't think all the people who died in 2 world wars deserves a day of rememberance?
I'm forever grateful to them. But believe it or not I don't have a poppy. Usually I end up with about 20 poppies, this year I kept a £10 note behind my bus pass to donate for one and I never even got asked if I wanted one this year nor did I pass any sellers. :(

Here in the US the VFW sells "buddy poppies" in May on Memorial Day weekend. I just thought that I would clarify.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Lest we forget.
