Thats from awhile ago. he was formely in a greater band in my mind then dragonforce, called bal-sagoth. I doubt most of you would like them, but great band. But i really cant stand dragonfoce much anymore. I got the first cd about a month after it came out...and then the 2nd. but its just mindless repeptitiveness. Basically you can play all there songs into one 5 minute song.

But they do have an amazing drummer.

Dragonforce's guitarist is also pretty bad ass... I've recently been introduced to them, but not much... I've heard maybe 30 minutes worth of their music... Personally, I thought it sucked ass... It was mindless repetitiveness... But bad ass guitarist... lol.

But I love the sound of a guitar... So any band that has a good guitarist, I'll generally go for if I like their style... Kirk Hammet with Metallica... John Petrucci with Dream Theater and G3... Slash with Gunz n Roses... Jimi Hendrix.... Steve Vai with G3... Yngvei Malmstein (sp?)... Synyster Gates with A7x (Even though he is one weird fuck.)... Jimmy Page with Led Zeppelin... The list goes on... =) Zakk Wylde AS A SOLOIST... I hate BLS... >.< ...

I like hardcore stuff, but I hate that screaming crap... Like Mudvayne... Oh God... My head would explode if I was forced to listen to them for too long...

But yea, and of course Dimebag Darrell with Damageplan... Or Pantera... Whichever you prefer... But I liked Dimebag better when he was with Damageplan... As far as the bands as a whole... Pantera, hands down... But yea, there is a little about the music I like... =P

My point exactaly. there one of the worst power metal bands...

but really, if you are a guitarist...he isnt that good. he is fast, but he doesnt have alot of melody. and most of the stuff he plays, really, is not that hard, its basically solo stuff, just played super fast. any idiot can do it.

I know yngwie, g3, and dream theater. I dislike dt again, they have immensful talent, i cant deny that, but i saw them live, personally, i almost fell asleep, they just drag on, and dragon. thats just me though. you need to see yngwiie live if you havent, he is so drunk, and can barley play.

Thats what I like about DT though... I love John Petrucci's and Mike Portnoy's sense of music... And they love it too... lol. They drag on, yea... But I really like it... Unlike Force, they actually know a hell of a lot about the music theory and have a good melody to most of their songs...

And OMGAH... DT's keyboardist is INSANEEEEE... I think his name is... Um... Something Sherinian? I know he's Armenian... lol. But I can't think of his first name.

Not to take sides or anything, but honestly, to play Dragonforce's shit, you don't need to know how to play anything else. Anyone can write a piece in 32nd notes, slap some fancy effects on it, and make it sound good. I mean, Dragonforce's music sounds like the kind of background music you would find in Castlevania, only played with a different instrument. I don't really mind, some music isn't made for everyone, however I'm tired of seeing all the scene kids glorifying Dragonforce, when there are better power metal bands that have been making music for years before Dragonforce even existed.

Oh, and KidA1337, I'm assuming you made it to the Beat a Dead Horse tour, was it great or what? I couldn't make it, I would of had to drive to Chicago, and I don't have money to be spending on gas. :bye2:

dreamtheatre is the most talented metal group ever, very very very under-rated but abbath i do agree they are slightly boring


also if you're playing guitar, ive been playing for a few years now, about 4 or so, here's a site you might like, a lot of free lessons on theory, scales, and tons and tons of good tabs, www.ultimate-guitar.com, the last of the good tab sites, in fact the only reason its still around is cause its based in Russia, and the RIAA cant sue them....
